I enjoy watching and playing all sports, but personally American Football is by far my favorite. The problem is that people from other countries see it as boring and slow, with too many pauses and breaks. The reason why people don't like it is usually because they never take the time to learn the mentality, dynamics and philosofy of the game. I know MANY people who thought it was dumb and bopring but when they actually took the time to learn the rules and watched a few games became big fans of the sport. It is truly a unique combination of strategy and violence, very similar to war in that it is a territorial sport. Once you learn the fundamentals you might be amazed at how symmetric the game really is. NFL players are todays modern gladiators. No sport out there demmands as much from your body and mind.Adult Copywriters

I know the rules of the game, 3 tries to get 10 yards, if they don't they lose the ball where they failed so they normally kick it as far down as possible if they don't think the'll make the 10 yards. I personally love football ("soccer"...), I enjoy American football since I took time to learn the game, but I have to say that rugby is way more dynamic than american football, it can be way more brutal (just take a look at their shoes, they have 2 inch nails, with no protection at all..), they could kill each other if they want to, but the fair play rules, it's truly a sport for real men. True, in rugby you don't use equipment, but it is for a reason that you use equipment in American Football. If you try playing "professional" football without equipment you would literally die. In rugby you can only hit the player with the ball, and below the waist I believe. In American Football everyone hits each other. There are blind side hits, there are players running down a straight line, looking back at the ball, and as soon as they catch it get popped brutally by a defender without ever seeing it coming. Also, all the equipment you see on a player is not only used for protection, but also for hitting.

If you study the history of football you will see in the beginning it was more like rugby. The forward pass was illegal and so all the plays were RUNNING plays. Running is something you do by using your feet. Also kickoffs, punts, field goals and extra points are all done by using your foot. Most of the players in the top 20 all time in scoring in NFL history are KICKERS. Kickers use their feet 100% of the time.Comment
