BRADENTON ? A man arrested on a warrant Saturday boasted to a Bradenton Police Department officer that he could break out of the handcuffs he was wearing.

Jeremiah Matteson, 27, of Bradenton, couldn?t escape the cuffs but was strong enough to render them useless, according to a police report. He bent the hinges on the cuffs, apparently while riding in a police cruiser.

His actions may lead to another charge, for criminal mischief, the report said. The estimated value of the handcuffs is $100."
