MY GOD - it is like London is possessed

I went to the supermarket for a couple things and it took me two hours to get through it for all the people stocking up for parties for today. It was insane. Then in the carpark I personally witnessed two crashes and a couple near misses. All this before the game even starts. I can't imagine what this place will be like if we get to the final.

I moved here ten years ago tomorrow and it was the start of Euro '96...this is the nearest I have felt to that buzz for a sporting event since.

Yeah, i can imagine.

It's actually a wee bit the same here, people are stocking up to watch the game aswell, except it's to hopefully watch England lose, hehe.

It's all in good nature though... Enjoy the game !!

You want to try working in a store with shitloads of customers in today like i did. People coming in buying absolute crap - mainly women buying bedding, a few HD TVs, etc.

Luckily i've just got off work and am here to see the game.

It's amazing how big this is worldwide yet I don't know a single soul here in the States that's watching... or even talking about it.

It's all about the Miami Heat Vs. Dallas here.

same here, very strange when you think about it...

soccer's actually a pretty decent game when there is a score...

the only low scoring game that I REALLY like is hockey, at least there are some good fights to watch usually...

I always find it interesting hearing about soccer from non-Americans. Soccer is like this sacred all national sport in every country but the United States, haha. I wouldn't mind going to a soccer game, actually it would be awesome to go to a soccer game in another country, but in the States it just isn't a big deal. I hear much more about a regular season pitching match-up then a great soccer rivalry.

I went to a soccer game in Ryadh KSA once, was a trip for sure, but I really need to go to one in the EU one of these days I'm sure it's off the hook nuts there...

Not sure why I'm bothering to answer an obvious idiot but here goes...

Try getting some glasses and actually watching the game. The ball was always going in the net and all the slight deflection achieved was to knock it nearer to the goalkeeper.

/end of replying to this twat as his sigwhore trolling for clicks is getting annoying.

You have to be at a major match to really understand it which sadly is an experience many Americans won't ever be able to have (at least no time soon).

The atmosphere really is hard to describe unless you can get there. The US certainly enjoy their sport but the crowd just isn't the same, it's more sort of...fragmented for some reason.

There is a difference in watching it on tv and watching it in the stadium, like i did in paris in may with champions league final. What your saying is totaly true, most americans have not even left their own town let alone state or country.
