Blogs only make money from AdEngage/AVNAds/Etology and a bit of AFF.

Dead on Sperminator. People need to realise that link trades are nothing more than traffic leaks. Why send it off to someone else when you can point it, and distribute it to your own sites. Build your own network, and as a last resort point them to something out of network, only because you don't have something relevant to point them to within your network. |

Also get your pinging services updated. |

Not true. You can use social bookmarking sites to build traffic very quickly. Pinging services like t e c h n o r a t i do not require a link back, and the results from just them are very impressive. Edited tech no rati is a haha word? |

PS ICQ is in location. |
I only have blogs - I turned my website into one, too - so all my sales come from blogs. I'm not a big player, only update when I have time and I don't spend much time on marketing, so it's all cake money to me. Good for a couple of sales a month and I'm starting to pick up some rebills...

Another thing that I've found very helpful with new sites is sending traffic one way (no recip) from my own established sites. The new sites generally get spidered within an hour or two and receive SE traffic within a day or two. M$ hates all of my sites no matter what I do, but G and Y seem to eat them up.
Once it has a rank assigned (or significant traffic with no rank) you can place reciprocals with no noticeable damage (my experience only -- I'm no SEO guru) and keep the traffic within your own network. As for the big money from blogs question: no, not yet. But, it's generating enough traffic/conversions to make me churn out another 6 or so blogs under different niches. Another example of a high-traffic blog is bad girls blog. More of a free gallery site than a blog, but still impressive. |

From new domain that's sandboxed to listed in one week???? NOT!!!! |

SE traffic starts between 12 and 48 hours later, but results using site:domain.com may lag for up to a month. Once you ping with pingomatic (or others) Y will follow suit immediately. There are your secrets for the day. :winkwink: |
Some very good info is in this thread. So where do you guys find the "big money" easier, mainstream or adult blogs?
|
Sorry I still dont buy it. My fastest domain name that ever popped was 1 week and that's cause I did some 301 redirect magic to it to force it. Linking it and using Gsitemaps never did anything faster that any of my 21 sites so far.
Not saying you're wrong just that I haven't seen it. |
one of my mainstream blogs is cooking along well. It's a highly targeted blog and claims first page on google after 8 months. My adult blogs are trickles, can't seem to get the traffic flowing. I know blogs in and out as far as the technical side, having done quite a few across the board (personal, photo, adult, mainstream with adsense, etc.) but it's getting them in front of people that I have trouble with.
If any experts out there want to give me some advice on the adult blog side of things, drop me an icq. |
Glad to see Chio in this thread. I'm adding you on ICQ right now.

If you plan on starting a bunch of blogs, should you have a .com for each individual one, and would it be ok if they are all on the same host.
|
Getting back into the scene with blogs. but imho they do really good with a little work
|
there is no money in blogs
