Well i'd love to know how you get traffic then, because most of my traffic seems to come from hardlinks because Google haven't yet listed me.

that's your problem right there. no google traffic. a lot of my traffic comes from my own internal sources. :winkwink:

Blogs only make money from AdEngage/AVNAds/Etology and a bit of AFF.

Dead on Sperminator. People need to realise that link trades are nothing more than traffic leaks. Why send it off to someone else when you can point it, and distribute it to your own sites.

Build your own network, and as a last resort point them to something out of network, only because you don't have something relevant to point them to within your network.

Google seem to be taking ages to list my site. I don't suppose you'd be kind enough to offer any advice or links? Thanks for all your advice so far, by the way.

But there's no denying that hardlinks do build traffic - arguably my blog would have no traffic were it not for such hardlinks, as Google and the other major search engines have yet to list it.

Sitemapping. Autoblogger Pro sites get people indexed typically within a week. If you don't need all the other stuff autoblogger pro does just get a sitemapping plugin and use it.

Also get your pinging services updated.

Not true. You can use social bookmarking sites to build traffic very quickly.

Pinging services like t e c h n o r a t i do not require a link back, and the results from just them are very impressive.

Edited tech no rati is a haha word?

Thanks for the advice on sitemapping. Any chance you know of a quick list to most social bookmarking sites?

I would, but then I'd have to take your first born son as payment :2 cents:

ICQ me as it seems some are banned here. I'll paste you the list right out of abp. It includes the more popular ones. Most lists you find are all of them (most being useless) The one I have is nice, and clean, and won't add any extra load at post time.

PS ICQ is in location.

I only have blogs - I turned my website into one, too - so all my sales come from blogs. I'm not a big player, only update when I have time and I don't spend much time on marketing, so it's all cake money to me. Good for a couple of sales a month and I'm starting to pick up some rebills...

You can take him as soon as he's born and you agree to teach him David Blaine is a cock.

go to big mainstream blogs asking for hardlinks based on your PR and let us know how many you got...or better how many people giving you the finger :winkwink: :1orglaugh

Another thing that I've found very helpful with new sites is sending traffic one way (no recip) from my own established sites. The new sites generally get spidered within an hour or two and receive SE traffic within a day or two. M$ hates all of my sites no matter what I do, but G and Y seem to eat them up.

Once it has a rank assigned (or significant traffic with no rank) you can place reciprocals with no noticeable damage (my experience only -- I'm no SEO guru) and keep the traffic within your own network.

As for the big money from blogs question: no, not yet. But, it's generating enough traffic/conversions to make me churn out another 6 or so blogs under different niches.

Another example of a high-traffic blog is bad girls blog. More of a free gallery site than a blog, but still impressive.

From new domain that's sandboxed to listed in one week????

NOT!!!!

All new domains are not automatically sandboxed. If you have several established sites in G Sitemaps you can add one every few days and have it crawled immediately.

SE traffic starts between 12 and 48 hours later, but results using site:domain.com may lag for up to a month.

Once you ping with pingomatic (or others) Y will follow suit immediately.

There are your secrets for the day. :winkwink:

xLaborJames 06-05-2006 07:25 PM

Some very good info is in this thread. So where do you guys find the "big money" easier, mainstream or adult blogs?

squeezeboobs 06-05-2006 08:00 PM

Sorry I still dont buy it. My fastest domain name that ever popped was 1 week and that's cause I did some 301 redirect magic to it to force it. Linking it and using Gsitemaps never did anything faster that any of my 21 sites so far.

Not saying you're wrong just that I haven't seen it.

divinity 06-05-2006 09:26 PM

one of my mainstream blogs is cooking along well. It's a highly targeted blog and claims first page on google after 8 months. My adult blogs are trickles, can't seem to get the traffic flowing. I know blogs in and out as far as the technical side, having done quite a few across the board (personal, photo, adult, mainstream with adsense, etc.) but it's getting them in front of people that I have trouble with.

If any experts out there want to give me some advice on the adult blog side of things, drop me an icq.

infectd 06-06-2006 09:18 AM

Glad to see Chio in this thread. I'm adding you on ICQ right now.

Agreed 100%..since my "tiny ads in thousands of newspapers all across the country" traffic has died off I began posting a list of my sites on the refrigerator with brightly colored magnets and I am constantly receiving comments about it from both family members and visitors to the house, even the pest control guy noticed it. :thumbsup

If you plan on starting a bunch of blogs, should you have a .com for each individual one, and would it be ok if they are all on the same host.

pindropv2 01-24-2007 07:19 PM

Getting back into the scene with blogs. but imho they do really good with a little work

Kimo 01-24-2007 07:22 PM

having a .com for each one is a good idea, if you have a network or plan to have a network of blogs they shouldn't be on the same host unless you can arrange for different c class ip's...I think bigdog on this forum offers such a service

Martin 01-28-2007 11:07 PM

So it's not really a good idead to have them on the same host/server?

Unless you can arrange for different class C ip's. This rule applies to SEO for all sites. I'm just parroting here.
