Want to have my own toplevel domain
Hi board members,
I had started an adult homepage on a free host but now I am getting a page saying that the bandwidth was exceeded. I had done major link exchanges, etc and in the last couple of days I got too many visitors. Now they all see this stupid message and it is only the beginning of the month. I have to get a real domain asap. I am sick and tired of free adult webhosts. The problem is that here in Germany as an adult webmaster we are required to use an adult verification system. There are severe penalties for making pornography accessible to minors. How do all the other websites handle this? On most tgp sites, or this board for example there is a simple statement "I hereby certify that I am over the age of 18 ... blah blah" and once the visitor clicks on the link he is in. Does that suffice? What is the law in the united states. I want to have a real host. I am thinking about hosting my site in the USA? Is it easier there. Does one need an AVS system for adult sites? And what about posting pictures of paysites on boards like this one? What is the legal issue? |

Im lost in why it was legal for you with free hosting and is now an issue when you found your free hosting wasnt really "free".
hit godaddy and buy a domain and then get some webhosting. If the laws in Germany are that strict I'd see a lawyer before you get started. Hosting in a different country doesn't get me out of local/state/national laws. Im in the US. Good luck with your start in this biz. |

Your own domain? That's just crazy talk. It takes years for webmasters to work up to owning their own domains, especially a top level one. I've heard of ambition before, but this is ridiculous!

I'm sorry in order to qualify for a real domain name your join date must be at least 6 months old and your postcount 1000+.
