AND the person gets credit everytime bandwidth is used. The only downside is its slow.. thats just because both his server is slow and my server is slow.. use the link structure of the original pic url and post a hotlinked pic in a new thread to see what i mean. ( its barely noticeable difference on a fast connection )

With your way if the site owner decides he no longer wants to allow us to hotlink the pic he may remove it and my link will lno longer work, whereas with your method he has no input , and gets no credit.. thats a bit unfair..

yes and no.

I understand what you're saying. I just think it is a HUGE downside doing it your way. The load time is horrendous friend.... horrendous. And there is simply no need to have that size of a file when one can crop and zoom right in on the focus of the picture and have it load way faster.

And in my way I have no fear of anyone "deciding not to host the picture any longer" because I upload it to one of my own webspace accounts or servers. If I want to give credit to anyone in particular (like I sometimes do, where applicable) I just put a courtesy link under the pic.

I timed the load of your pic up there, it's sometimes over 3 minutes. Crazy man. Crazy with a capital Z.

Sorry, I meant it's a huge downside in this instance... as in this particular case. That's all. Your technique is, as usual, quite innovative, and for most pics it will work quite well.

Cheers.
