Um.. I dunno where you live, but a lot of the gas stations around here have survalence cameras. Mainly for all those people who fill up and drive off. But I would think those same cameras would be running at night to get your license plate.Originally posted by beemk

Oh shit! Thats a damn good idea... I think I am gonna have to retrofit my van... this would be espically good for use on Exxon stations... they deserve to be ripped off more so than any of the others. But I wouldnt use alum pipe, I'd use flexable hose. Wouldnt want that pipe making all that noise and drawing attention... plus, hose would be faster when you wanted to pull out (pun intended) in case you needed to get moving right away. Also, what about buying and using an old U-haul truck... could probably hold several 55 gallon drums there... a take of 600 gallons at a time or so. A van could hold at most 200 gallons or so... a good take but not really enough to make it worthwhile. Also, if you had two or three pumps each with a feed hose, you could send three hoses down into the tank to fill three barrels at once, minimizing your exposure.Originally posted by SpunkyComment

look for older cars. VW, and Oldsmobile we used to target a lot. but pretty much anything older doesnt have the screen in the in hole that blocks you from getting your hose all the way down to the gas. plus the older cars have HUGE gas tanks.
best bet is to find a few cars on your regular gas theft route that you can get your kit to work on, and just hit them up on a regular basis.Comment

Older cars you can stick a tube right in and no problem...
Thats why you need a kit, and not just a hose...
So you can suck out from the newer large cars like Navigators, Expidetions, and the like.
Plus nicer cars Range Rovers, Esclades, Navigators, Hummers, BMW X5's, tend not to only have bigger tanks, but those high end cars are gold mines, becasue they tend to buy Super or Premium gas over the cheap shit..
And they always like to keep the tanks full, and tend not to notice when someone has stolen their gas.Comment

Many modern cars have a mechanism which makes it impossible to actuall insert a hose down into the tank itself, making siphoning impossible.. i think most modern cars..
