    Free Dating Website -

    I will be starting up a dating website here shortly for my local area (as there is nothing dedicated to the local area as it is). I plan on having it remain free for a bit of time while I advertise here locally. I know ads will be the main source of income for a while as different memberships will come later down the road. What other options would I have (that is already mainstream) to get income off of a free site?

    A few ideas I had would be having some kind of speed dating event in the area, featured profiles, and donations. Any other ideas?

          I successfully ran a dating site for Japanese girls at j-girls dot org/index.php

          If you want to keep your investment low, I'd recommend azdg dating scripts same as on my site. Good luck.

              My intention is to start a dating site for my local area. The speed dating idea is more to get the name of the website out more than anything.

              I'm currently using osDate, which I'm finding really nice. I love the fact that it's open source and it has a pretty helpful community to back it up.

              It's still in progress and has a LOT of work left for it, but you can look at it at publicmime.com

                  Looks good ! Better get a nice domain and start buidling inbound links. Directory submission, writing in other blogs, forums with your signature helps.

                      Thanks. Yeah, I'll be purchasing a domain in the next few days. I should be getting some business cards made up in the next week or three as well and I can start handing those out to everyone I meet. I also work in a restaurant, so if I can hand them out with checks there, it will be gold.
