Try not to buy on credit unless you absolutely have to (eg. emergency situations) or unless you like making banks money. Once you have a loan you basically become a slave to the bank.

I concur 100%. I *NEVER* use credit. If you can't afford to buy it cash, don't buy it. Collect money first THEN spend it. Not the other way around.

Ive spent fucking thousands in the past 2 years on stuff for the house (at the wifes behest). Im not even gonna think about that lot.

I recently bought a nice painting which once shipping and import duty were added came in at over 6 grand, but I consider it a bargain in terms of the sheer pleasure I derive from it.
