Cyndalie 05-31-2006 04:14 PM

Honda Civic : 16500 paid off
Education: 15,000 almost paid off

Everything else I've bought out right...
3 computers: $5500
3 TV's: $1500 (yeah, they all suck too)
Wedding Reception: 11,000 (paid in cash, my contribution 6,500 not including the dress, party favors, entertainment, damn I have a lucky hubby)
New transmission and computers for my last car: $4800 I HATED THAT FUCKING CAR!!!!

Everything else pales in comparison. What I hate is the expensive shit you have to buy but dont really want to (new tires, insurance premiums, bed/furniture, house/rent, fixing shit.. erg)

Wife's engagement ring without a doubt!

:)

I had it custom made - platinum instead of the 14k white gold pictured below.

Nearly flawless center diamond with a row of 11 nearly flawless diamonds in the channel underneath which I had the jeweler customize a bit further so it centered on both sides

Had it made FROM this pic and it's almost identical.

Hmm, I don't really remember...

All my furniture combined?

My pc?

A few days I bought 2 tickets to the Madonna concert, they cost a total around $1,100 for a 2 hr concert. I thought that was pretty damn expensive. I never thought I would pay that much for concert tickets, but it's Madonna, what can you do? She's a legend. It's not the most expensive thing I ever bought, but I consider it very expensive just for tickets :helpme

Sosa 05-31-2006 10:25 PM

Possibly the most expensivive individual object.. hmmm, my kashmir silk carpet was 4500 eur.(5700 usd)

Try not to buy on credit unless you absolutely have to (eg. emergency situations) or unless you like making banks money. Once you have a loan you basically become a slave to the bank.

I concur 100%. I *NEVER* use credit. If you can't afford to buy it cash, don't buy it. Collect money first THEN spend it. Not the other way around.

edgeprod 06-01-2006 02:31 AM

gf's ring. $80k -- start the hate.

My wife never expected it or anything extravagant at all.

I just went all out because I kew she was "IT".

Never thought I was going to get married - much less have kids. NOR DID I WANT TO BEFORE I MET HER!

She changed my life for the better and it was a once in a lifetime way to say "I'm done fuckin' around!"

:winkwink:

Lee 06-01-2006 04:31 AM

Ive spent fucking thousands in the past 2 years on stuff for the house (at the wifes behest). Im not even gonna think about that lot.

I recently bought a nice painting which once shipping and import duty were added came in at over 6 grand, but I consider it a bargain in terms of the sheer pleasure I derive from it.
