Now what makes you say that? This list is based on matches a country plays. Countries play in geographic zones in order to qualify for worldcuptournaments though.
So the only thing you can deduct from this list is that the USA might have the best team in the Northern American zone. You can not compare them fairly to countries outside of this zone though.

Take a look at the american players for example. Not many of them play for excellent clubs....

It's full title is actually the 'FIFA World Cup'. FIFA stands for Federation of International Football Associations. Not Soccer Associations. It was around long before the US version of football and will be around long after as it's the world's most popular sport (3 billion people watched the last World Cup final).

american sports are popular because anyone can do them. they appeal to the fat asses that sit at home on sunday and watch them. the fat kids in school could all play football and baseball. but i'd like to see them try a sport where you're running the entire time. these guys wouldn't last 5 minutes on a soccer field. soccer is mostly popular in countries where a majority of the population isn't overweight. i played growing up as a kid and all through highschool. it's by far the most athletic sport in the world.

The USA does not suck. We had an excellent showing at the last WC and I feel we will do well, if not better in this Cup. We still have a long way to win one, but it is not impossible. You will see a lot of the world beaters drop out, as the rest of the world is catching up.

He was by far the best player we ever had. Alexi had a lot of heart, a lot of red hair and goatee. Claudio Reyna is the best player we have produced thus far IMO.

I did soccer, wrestling, and shot put/discuss in highschool.

Soccer is no where near the most athletic. A 6min wrestling match was worse then playing both halves in a soccer game.

i live in brazil and play soccer 2 times/week with some friends, we got a team, and soccer is in here the same as NBA for you americans. it's just the national addiction.

Having him as your best player ever is a real achievement. Manchester City are an alright team. The only way you will do well in the world cup is by force. Americans lack all skill in FOOTBALL. Thing that I dont understand is that AMERICAN FOOTBALL is all about tatics where as when you play FOOTBALL you just bung on a load steroid ridden fuckers that all run at the ball at the same time.

Brazil are fucking gods of football. Pele once said that because he played on uneven ground all the time playing in the slums it made it a piece of piss for him to play on a proper surface.
