Charter cable and/or Bellsouth DSL subscribers... how is your service?

We're moving to the suburbs of Atlanta next week and just placed our orders for cable and DSL from these 2 companies but we've never used them before. How is your internet experience with these 2 providers? Good? Bad? Ugly? Any feedback is appreciated!

I'm in MI, but had Charter for a good 5+ years. I use them as a backup now since getting a circuit installed. But they are good. There have been down times, but they are short, few and far between.

Yuck, we got both ISPs as back up if one sucks. We're moving to Buford... not sure how close that is to you, sounds good though. We'll let you know!

I had charter here in Nebraska until they sold out this region to another company. It wasn't the greatest, bet better then compared to how the new company is handling it.

Best we do here is 5mbit DSL from Qwest which has been rock solid

Charter and BellSouth suck. Add Comcast to the list as the worst.
Check out speedfactory for your area. Thats who I have for my DSL provider even though they ride the BellSouth backbone the support is excellent. Ive called them twice in 2 years once to set it up and once to get a password reset.

They will even issue you static IP with one of the better accounts.

BellSouth is OK for me... not down much anymore, when i first got it it was, probably due to construction, i live in a new neighborhood, i actually got bellsouth as a backup because the local cable provider is always down.

Thanks for your responses, everyone. We ordered the fastest connections Bellsouth and Charter have available. The subdivision we're moving to is brand new and not even on any maps So I'm hoping that's not going to be a problem. Hopefully there's some strong wifi in the area, just in case
