Should I upgrade from Dreamweaver 4 to Dreamweaver MX?

just wondering if it is worth the extra bucks to upgrade to dreamweaver mx? I currently have dreamweaver 4
what additional features does MX have that dreamweaver 4 does not have? what are the differences? I appreciate the help.

Sorry that link is messed up, try this:

            trial mx release

They've integrated HomeSite (which is a great coding tool) into DW but I don't think its worth the extra bucks.

I have been using the new one for a few weeks and I totally don't notice any difference.

Has anyone noticed any big improvements that make your job easier?

I can find nothing different either. I thought I screwed up and downloaded the wrong thing at first. MX is utterly worthless. Stick with 4. Flash MX and Fireworks MX are the shit though.

Nope, i was expecting to see some easier use of css, compression of html code, not hard things to add on the program...but nothing. There's a whole board about the improvements that can't be done on Macromedia programs and there are posted several ideas from many developers, webmasters and programmers....it seems that all these people lost their time.

I was just wondering yesterday why they can't do the smart thing and make a super version of dreamweaver that integrates the most used features from Fireworks and include them directly inside Dreamweaver. I would pay extra for that. What the fuck are they thinking!?!
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

                      disagree.
has a few things that are helpfull. For one, it open files in the same window where you can see them tabbed underneath, within the DW window, not the browsers bar. It has a right frame where you can keep code. This is very useful, unless your sites are just HTML. If your sites are high-end and you know some php, or javascript or use databases, MX is a great combination of 4 and ultradev. Also, in MX you can JUSTIFY text. I kind of like this feature. i am sure there is more. Been using for only 2 weeks, so...

It's nice and would probably increase productivity if it didn't have so many bugs. There are many problems with the style sheet designers and the ftp engine has trouble with a lot of ProFTP hosts. My advice it to hold off for another few months until they get everything corrected.

I've been using it, and I think it's great. Tons of new features/layout options, and I haven't seen the bugs you're talking about.

                          I'd definitely suggest it.
