at a wedding when drinks are free I've been knows to drop $60-$80 in tips ... I figure i would spend more then that a night out ... and these guys work hard.. There are a few cases when the guys just suck ... then I tell them that at the end and leave very little .:2 cents: |
I don't really go out that much anymore but every place I hang out the bartender already knows me... I always open tabs and I tip between 18-25 % normally. I always get #1 quality service and no fucking arround.

a buck a beer too sounds about rite
|
About 4 or 5 bucks every beer

Standard tip is $1 per drink. Once in a while people tip $2 per drink. And if you want to be "high class" and show off, then tip $5 per drink. I think that's stupid though. |
bartender nazi's !
As I do believe in leaving "a" tip per drink.. I prefer a tab myself, and tipping on the full bill. but really.. these guys/girls get a decent wage already... when was the last time you tipped out your gas attendant.. or Kid who busts his/her ass during lunch hour at subway or whatev.. i think bartenders have it way to easy.. and its only going to get worse because it is "expected" .. 20 years from now, mandatory tip per drink will be 20$ .. good luck getting tipsy ;) |

Don't go off percentage, so can't really vote. I give a buck a drink.

I tip about 15-20 percent

I give a buck or two per drink, depends of the circumstances ;)
|
1$ per shot/drink
|
$1.00 + whatever coins came with the drink so Im not rattling all night.
Also ... I take the time to say please and thank you + be make the bartender / waitress laugh a bit and relax. Its amazing how being polite with people working a room helps you get served when there's a crowd :) |
Totally depends where I am. Usually I don't tip because I just order a fucking beer. Sometimes I leave a buck. Around here that is enough
|
I never get my own drinks from the bartender. I use a waitress and tip 30%+
|
Its always depends on the service, just like a waiter. People who tip based on a set percentage or amount without regard to the service are too stupid to have money (they should give it all to me instead) and as the old addage goes, fools and thier money soon part.
If the service is good, I'll tip well. If it was OK, then the tip is OK. And if it made my turd look better than the service, then the tip will be shit too. I tip on takeout too, but I had an experince so bad in that department once that I actually called the manager after I got home and told him to remove the entire tip from my credit card and if he didnt, I would be sure to promptly file for a chargeback with Visa. |
just a thanks.. lol

363 people opened the thread and 43 voted. That is an amazing stat. Pretty benign vote. If people found out you over or undertip it would probably not wreak you street cred here.
|
depends on what I ordered, I drink lots of club soda.I leave a buck for each one.

dollar TOPS a drink

I will be one to admit that I rarely tip bartenders.
I used to but it never was worth it in the least. It is hard enough to get their damn fucking attention to begin with. Damn bars are about as high as my nose and they fucking smell like stale shit. Want a tip, wipe the fucking bar down once a decade. Next thing, how fucking hard is it to get a tall tonic and lime easy on the ice. Fuckers can never seem to get it right and they treat you like your a waste of time because instead of spending 4 to 6 bucks on a mixed drink I am only spending 4 to 5 bucks on fucking water and a wedge of lime. I will however tip under the following situations. Vegas or any casino where a roaming waitress brings you the drink, then a buck or two is only fair. She remembered where you were and what you wanted. When I send other people to the bar to get stuff for me. Like if a friend or associate asks if they can get me anything. I will toss that person the drink cost plus a few bucks. I tell him or her he can tip or buy himself a drink. When there is an open bar hosted by someone. Then it is only fair. |
10%... too cheep ? :S
|
I start off overtipping 40% or more - then I flat out at around $2 per drink after that...
Gives faster response, stronger drinks and a better experience. :2 cents: |
I always tip about $5 on the 1st round..then about $1-2 per drink after..sometimes more tho if its a big drink order, just depends on service and where I'm at
|
Took notes. tip big up front and taper off. I take care of them on tabs. Different situation there.
