PPS vs. Rev Share results. Why I always pick PPS
Just figured I'd share some stats. I will not name the sponsor. They offered both rev and pps in the beginning. I was revshare. I signed up to promote them quite a while back, but never got around to it and started promoting them in February with targetted traffic sent to two of their sites. Both sites performed very similar.
Site 1: 27926 1:230 53 Full, 60 Trials, 51 Rebills, 8 Multi Month Joins Site 2: 21631 1:177 54 Full, 61 Trials, 63 Rebills, 7 Multi Month Joins $/Join < PPS which was offered. That is from good traffic. This is why I always suggest PPS. I have never had a sponsor with revshare make more than PPS. |

Those numbers show no comparison. I don't understand what exactly you're trying to prove. Furthermore, February was only 3 months ago, you can't gauge the full value of a member after only 3 months. Turn off all traffic to the rev-share account, then check back in 6 months and then again in 12 months and see what each member was worth. That would be a proper gauge.
I used to think the same until I found a few sponsors that over time have created members worth over $40 per trial. And that is with additional traffic and sales coming in, if I cut those off the full value per trial would probably average over $50.

wedouglas - try Braincash
Their sites retain an average of $71 for me right now. That's a tad higher than a $35 pps. |

There are plenty of affiliate of our site that have made well over $40-50 off the joins they have sent
and the sites I have promoted in the past have proven to be way more profitable than pps would have been for them you just have to pick and choose your revshare site carefully and not throw traffic to the first one you see....research of your target always pays off in the end |

wedouglas hey man!
You GOTTA check the members areas FIRST. Most sponsors will let you do this. You can tell within 2 minutes in there whether a surfer would enjoy or HATE the site. Find out how often the updates are and how much content is added with each update. Also check to see how much abuse the member has to go through to even GET into the members area. Are they fighting a load of popups? Are they sifting through a big cluster fuck of upsells within the members areas? Do they have to pay for anything once they get inside? Is it hard to determine what links are movies or feeds and which ones are upsells? See look here what we do http://www3.karupspc.com/81559102/new.php? This link is right on the main tour page. It shows which model was added last week, how many pics there are, how many movies, and shows the setting in which the shots were taken. |

I have always made more sales with revshare programs, much more...on the same traffic, so payout or rebills didn't bother me much. I made more $$$.

Those stats are pointless. What does the members area look like? That's how I base my decision on PPS or RevShare. I only do RevShare on sites that have members area that will retain members.

i have several 12+ month rebills with a few sponsors, i'd have been screwed on those with PPS. Your comparison doesnt really mean much, who's to say you pushed a site that knows how to keep members recurring anyway? Sites like that will always pay off better on PPS

I normally pick pps, but with 21sexturycash I've been doing very well with recurring honestly, some days I make more recurring sales than I do normal sales.. check sig.

it really does depend on the sponsor. do your research and you should be able to get a good idea of how a sponsor retains. ask the sponsor for trial to monthlyl membership percentage, avg subscription length, then take a look at whats promised in the tour vs. the members area and you could figure out the PPS equivalent.

Pay per signup is for the short term with more upfront money
Pay per recurring is for long term with more money in the End. understand that if you do pay per recurring, make sure you use a company that does not recur subscriptions and rebills it's customers. customers will come back for more if they like your content and price. non-recurr billing = retention. try XonDemand, see sig... |

Those stats are completely useless, what you need to compare is $$/revshare vs $$/pps, what you showed is just bunch of meaningless numbers... and really, like sly said, you won't get accurate picture for at least another 8 months (assuming you started promoting that sponsor in feb or so)

oh, and this is a perfect example why every newb is jumping on the pps bangwagon... They promote a site for 3 months, they notice "I get more trials than rebills." and then conclude that the revshare model sucks...

I always pick pay per signup too. Mostly with companies that pay more than $30. I especially like Adult.com and EpicCash
They both rock! |

pps is good if you don't have a steady traffic flow, i do pps but if i know i can send like 5+ sales a day to a site then i'll do rev, well depending on the sponsor too, some sponsors rev sucks!

rebill forever. although finding, weeding them out and filtering them takes more effort than just submitting a tgp gallery. general vanilla type porn is better suited for pps but there is more competition and saturation

If a sponsor don't offer PPS it means for me usually he can't retain his members with exeption of a couple ccbill sites that are owned by photographers themselves with very regular and exclusive updates. Sponsors that can offer PPS do so as they know most of adverts like PPS.

and I personally never ever use revshare from
a sponsor offering pps nor do I use any pps sponsor at this time outside of sexkey. don't trust a damn one of them. as said above it is imperative to see the members area

You are missing my point. Your thread title and subject tries to put revshare and pps into certain frames without you imho having seen the whole picture.
Were you provided with 3rd part stats so you can be 100% sure you were credited for all the sales you reffered to the PPS program? |
