Billing company for FREE trials

Hey,

Anybody know a billing company that will agree to do free trial memberships? CCBILL and EPOCH won't do it.

Rather than ask who will do it... ask yourself... why would you want to offer free trials?

At least if you're charging a few bucks -- you'll probably cover your bandwith costs... but with free trials -- you're getting nothing. A huge majority of free trial signups will probably cancel within the 3 days (or whatever time period you're offering)... and those who don't cancel it -- will probably claim they didn't realize it was recurring - and the "free" was misleading

Well, from my experience, free trials convert!!! Even with the cancellations, you make a pretty good living

ccbill would allow u to do free trials if u have good credit with them. basically. and if they check and approve your site to make sure that it will have the necessariy member retention and the conversion from trial to membership will be high. Also, from what i remember u have to do a high amount of transactions..

Spend more time looking for your iq than you do posting pipecrew and you'd be a much happier man...

WTF? -- when you've been on with us for awhile, you may be able to do free trials, as playa said, it does depend on your history with us, type of site, etc etc... and you pay 2% more on them in fees as well.

While free trials do generate proportionately more signups, don't think that it always means more $$$....

it also makes perfect sense why a credit card proccessor would want to see your back ends

afterall, they are the ones who take the fall if you fuck them with offering your visitors tons of content and not supplying as much as promised.

Yes, I know, I've been with you for about 3 months and I need to be with you for at least 6 months and make $5000 in transactions with you.

Thats why I posted this thread, but thanx

Hi,

We actually have alternate tours on our 12 sites utilizing free trials on some of the tours. The free trials convert about 30% better but the trial to monthly conversion is obviously lower. It is a tradeoff. We keep the scrubbing tighter on our free trial sites and tours. We use Netbilling for our processing since we switched from third party awhile ago and are extremely happy with thier service and flexibility. We use their customer service center 24/7 which definately helps with dispute management. I do not recommend fre tials unless you have the recurring income to balance out the slighly higher rate of disputes.
