I mean every twist and turn we end up shooting the wrong person, arresting the wrong guy, preparing for the wrong emergency and blaming everything other than ourselves for present fuck ups.

We're supposed to have various intelligence agencies public and private but we're like getting a bum steer much too often?

Not quite...

I'm not saying it'll change the state of the country. However, bush's whole administration, from top to bottom, will be gone, and that will be a monkey off of our backs. (LITERALLY)

There will at least be hope, that fresh blood can do a better job than the hundreds of lackies that bush has put into power. Just look at a list of the people who have resigned from the administration. Guys like Kenneth Lay, Porter Gross (CIA Director), Andy Card (Chief of Staff), and many others are examples of an administration that has shown nothing but incompetence. Not to mention those that should resign.

I'm not being naive...i just refuse to believe the system won't work because of a small percentage of idiots in high places, and this time...i'm not too worried about the constituents voting for "a household name". NO WAY the next president wil be as bad as him.

Smell it may end up the same irrespective of any change in politics.

The damage done so far is a monumental challenge - add to that the continuing damage up to 08. Don't have a lot of optimism in seeing change and damage limitation - the ship is already sinking with water over the decks.

Whoever does end up in power sure as hell "should" have little time to play stupid politics - it's a massive task at all levels and probably the most crucial time in the history of the US. Good luck to whoever takes control - they sure as hell will need it.

Without getting involved in political bullshit (cos that's the last thing the US can afford to waste time on) - all folks in the next government have at least got to be qualified to hold office and have something constructive to offer. Voting for a load of incompetents is not going to help.

A country is the same as any biz - you don't have idiots who have nothing to offer on the board. Hell.. many third world countries have far better qualified people in their governments.

Hopefully that person exists, and the public has the balls to elect him/her, because that person will not be an average/waste of space, self interest politician.
