What are some good hosts for SEO work?

Hi

What are some good hosts for using for SEO work, unique IP's etc. Any good ones that will supply IP's from different C Class's? Just virtual hosts fine for SEO work are they? Used to having fully mananged dedicated servers, but overkill for just SE work.

thanks )

if you want to spread a couple seo type sites around we have a cheapo plan for this at $3

We have a several top listed sites on our network, so you can say it's SEO friendly.

Also if you want a pr4 or higher we do SEO:

www.gotwebhost.com

I think right now we have custom plans available with up to 80 different Class C's.

We even offer a free SEO consultation with purchase. Virtual servers get a one time consultation of 1 hour, dedicated plans get 1 hour a month.

Wow - I expected a load more spam before a reply appeared that actually answered his problem. More or less all my income currently comes from SE traffic and I'm always looking for cost-effective solutions for a good IP spread. I'll take a peak later.

We can provide IP's on 20 seperate class C networks, at a far lower price and with higher quality bandwidth than the competition. You can contact me through ICQ and we can work out somthing custom to fit your needs.

We use 4 different datacenters . . . we have 80 Class C's available when doing a combination of dedicated and virtual servers.

Don't be upset.

Oh, guess I misinterpreted his question. The reason I don't know the exact number of C's we have today is because they are a commodity. Just because I have 80 today, does not mean there will be 80 tomorrow.

Fact is, we have about 100 to choose from when I include the VPS servers, but I would have to do an inventory if someone wanted a custom package with that many just to verify the exact number available today.

it's "slang", in its current use.

class C IP's refer to having IPs on separate class C networks..

meaning

one on 10.1.2.x

one on 10.1.3.x

one on 10.1.9.x

and so on.

You really are a true idiot aren't you? Just about anybody with half a clue knows exactly what's being discussed when the term 'class c' is being used in relation to IP addresses and SEO. It matters not a jot what wiki or anything else wants to define it as, providing those in the discussion are fully aware of the context that it's being used in. Why bother trolling in a thread when you are too dumb to know anything on the subject?

It went from "moose doesn't know wtf he is talking about" To (the excuse)...It's slang.

So is it cool if I call you an idiot? It's just slang for "you don't know wtf you are talking about"

Damn - a very rare (for GFY) useful thread until some idiot decided to start trolling to make himself look 'clever' and failing untterly.

It'd be nice if we could get back to the discussion on suitable hosting rather than more pointless waffle about how a term isn't technically correct, despite the fact that everyone happily uses it and knows exactly the context it's being used in. Sadly though I doubt it'll happen as the guy looks far too up his own ass to bugger off now and just drop a pointless argument.

I think yall <--slang need to re-read that wiki

There is no longer any such thing as a Class C (or B, or A) Network

That does not mean there is no such thing as a Class C Range

But there is no such thing Called a "Class C Network"

Basically what it's saying is that they Don't give out Class C's direct from
ARIN anymore... but those ranges are specified from a larger ISP

Have a good day

Oh and, it is still appropriate to use classes A, B, and C. those still are accurate terms, its just that you no longer can only get ip's in those designations. At one time a class C was the smallest you could get, B was the next smallest allocation and A was the largest, had that arrangement stayed we would have run out of IP's in 1994. CIDR (classless interdomain routing) allowed us to break up the classes for assignment, but they still represent the amounts well. C=256 contiguous IP's (10.1.1.0-255), B=65536 contiguous IP's (10.1.0.0-10.1.255.255), A=16777216 contiguous IP's (10.0.0.0-10.255.255.255), or C=256x1, B=256x256, A=256x256x256. Any questions?

Yeah - it's tough for a hosting company who doesn't focus on SEO clients to give you what it sounds like baddog can. However, I'd likely talk to baddog, see what he's offering and then go to other hosting companies to ask if they could beat the price and service.
