    Webmaster Access Amsterdam 2006 - Why not at the Renaissance hotel ?

    I just checked out the webmaster access website for info for the upcoming Amsterdam show in September and discovered to my surprise that it's being held this year at the Barbizon Palace hotel.

    2 Questions for the organizers / anyone who knows why the decision:

    1) Why not at the Renaissance, I thought the hotel was great and the church/conference center was perfect.

    2) Why does the link that says "Barbizon Palace Hotel" lead to the Mariott Renaissance website?



    I know it's gonna be a hell of a week, I can't wait.

          BTW. if you book trough hotels.com you get an ever cheaper price than the Webmaster Access special room rate.

          normal room 188 Eur instead of 220 Eur
          deluxe 240 Eur instead of 275



          Edit... thats ex hotels.com booking fees, so probably ends up around the same

                              I think I remember Lensman saying something about his Jacket being stolen by either the hotel or a club at Webmaster Access Amsterdam last year, I just tried to find the thread but couldn't. Anyone remember this? May be it has something to do with the change of venue this year.

                                      maybe it had to do with the fact that the rooms were all messed up!! you had to go through one hotel to another floor to take another elevator to get to the next 2 floors??? lmao...

                                                  In fact I think I remember that he said they stole his jacket two years in a row.
                                                  When he asked them about it they did not seem very interested.

                                                      The reasons are several fold.

                                                      1) The Palace has a Chuch just like the Renaissance

                                                      2) The rooms are much nicer

                                                      3) Hotel is closer to RLD

                                                      4) The Renaissance could not fit our group at the time. Their only opening was the beginning of October and that was not acceptable.

                                                      5) We have not fully launched the site for the show yet we are making tweaks to the html today so you will see errors until the launch shortly.
