What movies truly scared the bejesus out of you...

I don't mean movies that make you jump at key moments, but movies that kept you freaked out during and after watching it.

Exorcist - still freaks me out and I avoid watching it.

Invasion Of The Body Snatchers - the Donald Sutherland '78 one. Not sure why though.

The Hills Without Eyes. Seeing the father burn on a cross and the family watching and could do nothing! Freaky as hell!

I don't really get scared at movies these days, guess I just saw too many when I was a kid.

Anyway I think "The ring" has been one of the most scary in recent years.

That's very true.. I think it's probably because we've "seen it all before" for the most part and entertainment consumers are far more sophisticated these days.

The first HellRaiser was another one for me...

The only ones that scare me are the ones that are "based on actual events." Movies about dying after watching a VHS tape are actually comical to me.

Fire In The Sky - I was about 8 or 9 years old when I watched this, it scared me for life.

The only movie that really fucked me up was "The Sixth Sense". At the time I was living by myself and my bedroom was pitch black at night. I was in bed after watching that movie swearing that dead people were touching me.

That and the Prophecy (old camp 80's horror flick) are the only ones that really freaked me out and quite honestly still do.
