May 3rd, it arrives at customs and they have been holding it ever since...

I am leaving on vacation THIS SUNDAY (in 3 days), and I made sure to tell them that if I do not recieve my package by tomorrow, it would be completely pointless....

and what is it? the package is still there because they are missing a "customs broker" or some bullshit

what the hell is that crap? if someone ships me a package, it gets to my house! I don't have to hire some fuckin customs broker to bring me the package

I swear if I don't get my laptop tomorrow in time for my vacation I am going to give them a piece of my mind...

Wow, I had that happen later last year when I bought a laptop and it was shipped from Japan. It was only on hold for about 2-3 days before it continued it's way down to me.

Depending on the delivery, you could have them delivery on Saturdays. There is a FedEx delivery thing called "Home Delivery" now where they deliver Tuesdays to Saturdays instead of the usual Monday-Friday.

Sounds like you should be yelling at the guy who sent you the lappy and not FedEx. Its the shipper's job to tender packages with proper paperwork completed, not the carrier.

Usually all goes through with no problem
FedEx always just takes care of the customs brokers
and UPS always calls me when they get a package and it has to go throught customs. I just authorize them to act as customs broker when they call and ask

Yes you do ... It is called business ... If the item is small in value, then you can mandate FedEx to clear it.

Use Mendelson as a broker .. They clear everything for me ... and I mean EVERYTHING...

sounds like the shipper screwed up the customs documents..or perhaps Canada Customs opened the package and didnt accept the shippers declaration....i dont see how FEDEX is responsible...

I had the exact same thing happen with a laptop... paid a lot for 2nd day air and got it over a week later... Every day they said "it should come out today", so I would stay around at home, two days I had to give them new addresses because I was unable to stay at home the whole week
