I have to say that I pay for work either upfront or as soon as completed. I hire people to do work based on their rep and past performance. If I'm not happy, I ask them for changes, or to submit another piece of work, BUT I STILL PAY THEM, BECAUSE THE WORK WAS DONE. If in the end, after getting resubmissions and changes done, I still don't like it, then I just chaulk it up to making a mistake and I don't use them again.

This is silly. You asked for music, you got it, you should pay the measly $200 for it. If you aren't happy, then ask him to make changes or submit another song track. If you aren't happy in the end, then don't use him again. Pretty simple, eh?

If the work was done, it was done. Everything else is just a matter of personal taste.

I think the biggest issue was that it was demo'd to people. The minute that music was used to promote the girl was the minute that you used it and should pay him. It doesn't matter if it was showed to 1 person or 500.

That's like me telling a content producer I'll pay if I use his content. Put up the content and then tell him I'm just showing a few people for a few months.

I actually think the editing took away from the music. I mean 10 page peel effects gets a little tiring especially with faster paced music. I would have put more fast and flashy cuts to go better with the music. Just one editors opinion. And yes, he should be paid...
