Interesting article here

http://antivirus.about.com/od/virusd...ransomware.htm

Victims complain that MoviePass.tv (also known as MovieLand.com and MediaPipe) installs itself without their knowledge and displays intrusive pop-ups demanding a $99 licensing fee.

According to those who have encountered MoviePass.tv on their systems, there is no single uninstall entry in Add/Remove Programs and the terms of the licensing agreement expressly prohibits uninstalling the software. Instead, posters to various self-help forums across the Internet maintain that victims must follow a specific set of MoviePass.tv removal instructions in order to fully remove the program and stop the incessant pop-ups.

We are 100% spyware free on our Porn Kings sites. We advertise with Webmaster Direct on our exits but at that point when a surfer clicks on the ad they are out of our realm of responsibility. Media has tested and clicked and used Webmaster Direct and there was 0 spyware installs or spyware warnings.

Ehm, that's pretty fucked up reasoning. With that kind of logic, you can justify linking to pretty much anything.

Quite a few other people seem to have tested it as well, with rather different conclusions

FF users don't count for 25 % of users but that dosen't really matter in this case.

There is no malware involved with webmaster direct. We have tested the software and on phone with Media right now and we ahve tested on three different machines and there were no problems with the company. There was no issue with uninstalling the software and no residual effects. Do you really think Media would jeopardize our reputation by advertising a malicious product. If this this was something shady and taking over peoples computers in a malicious way, then the FTC would of shut them down. They have been in operation for many many months now.

There are many programs in the industry that use webmaster direct, we would not advertise that was suspect without first conferring with other programs and seeing what their results were without seeing their results and feedback.

All I am saying is that with our testing of the product and results of the tests, there is NO MALWARE involved with webmaster direct. There is no way we would put ourselves in jeopardy with our affiliates by advertising a company that is not legit. We have been in business too long to do that.

Thats fine and thats understandable , but to write them off as trustworthy merely by the fact they havent been arrested is silly.

p.s. i also would stick your neck out making claims about other people's business ... ( just some friendly advice )

Im not quite sure how( or why ) you can guarantee there is no walware just by testing 3 computers.. are you aware many trojans only infect people with foreign ip address ? are you also aware many malware sites chek and serve different content depending on who is looking..

all im saying is dont overstep what your qualified to say

only franck was making direct accusations.. if theres spyware there its not your fault , but it is once you become aware of it

Of course, was not slamming you at all, just saying that we have talked to other sponsors and with our testing have found nothing. If there is any indication there is a malicious act going on, we would be the first to get rid of advertising. I hear ya on if there is spyware it is not on our side due to their program.

You installed it, deleted it. The end.

However, from what I gathered, if people install it, then wait longer than the "trial" they didn't know they were getting, they are then unable to get the shit from their computer and receive popups.

In other words, scummy ransomware.

Ofcourse, the user has to click the "I am over 18 years old and agree to the terms" to get to a HUGE fucking contract containing this.

Fact: when you do a quick google search for one of the sites run by webmaster direct, a lot of 'horror stories' about spyware/malware turn up.

Once somebody clicks on their ad, the click is theirs ..we have no problem with what they do with their traffic once the click has occurred. We have a traffic trade with them and it has been a mutually beneficial traffic trade. 4% of traffic is nothing in the scheme of things compared to the relationship that we have built with our traffic trade. We would not continue any business relationship if we felt they were doing anything malicious. This is the end of our conversation on this and we would not associate with anything shady. If you continue to throw accusations against us, we will pursue whatever action necessary to get you to desist from these frivolous accusations about the promotion of malware.

And those "other processes" can be used to send out spam email if they wanted to since they've made it vague enough to run anything they want. This is not much different than setting up a botnet using real viruses/malware/toolbars etc..

"But mooooom... everyone else is doing it!" Are you really that naive?

You're saying you installed the software and found nothing wrong. Did you wait for your "trial" to expire?

dude your way overstepping your opinion on this , you would be better of just not saying anything else because the further you get into it the worse your looking

are you insane .. ? lets do some deals then ill trade 2 hits for every one you send me ( but ill jack the surfer up so he will never be able to get to your site ever again )

I dont know how you can say they arent shady.. thats as shady as they come to say that once the trial is over the product cant be removed ...
how more obviously shady can you get

Looks like more than one sponsor will be banned on a few lists by the end of the night.

and hey im serious about that trade , if you really value your traffic so little i would be glad to take you up on a trade.. i wont even make the malware affect any other sponsors , all it will do is redirect any of yoursites to my site so then when i send you 2 hits , they will actually come rright back to me and ill send you them back again lol i could make a mint doing this.. just retrading your own traffic back to you , and building my own vast empire from all your exits..

I have been testing this product for over two months on three different machines, one at home and two in the office, there has been nothing suspect about the product, if there was we would have never started advertising it in the first place.. plain and simple...

We have exits up, we send them traffic, they send us traffic plain and simple... Whatever we do with the traffic they send to us is our business, whatever they do with the traffic once it reaches them is their business.. it is seperated from the traffic you have sent to us that YOU ARE PAID to send to us.

Do you really think that the shit you install such as icq, aim, etc is not full of adware and processes? Read the fucking terms of AOL instant messenger, whatever is discussed on AOL IM is PROPERTY OF AOL, ICQ is AOL property, so any ideas, formulas, or anything can be used without your permission... I am done with this, I know you all have your beliefs and thoughts, thats cool whatever, but stating that we support spyware installs is pure shit, and I will not tollerate it...

Talk to the source, don't drag us into your crusade when all we have is a trafic relationship with them. If shit changes and they start doing malicious stuff, Yeah I'll be pissed, but from what I can tell they have a legit opperation going that has not set off bells and whistles with me.

There will always be people who complain and who make reports, we get chargebacks and all that shit every day, people saying we rip them off because they don't realize the $1.00 one day trial was for only one day... that is clearly labeled on the site..

I have much better shit to do than to sit around and debate this with you Franck. You got your stir of drama today, I'm sure your sig sponsor is thrilled with the clicks your generating..

I have no clue what you do in this industry honestly, as far as I know you're a surfer who lucked out and got some $$$ from starting a ton of shit.. but what do I know what you do??? It's just my opinion, and I am entitled to it...

i hope you realise thats likely whats happening anyways.. he is prob trading traffic to you he has scooped from some other sponsor. they infect them so they cant get to a diff sponsors site that is also trading with him and send them to you , you give them one "clean" surfer back , they infect them and send them to the next trade partner , so when you install the program , you dont see anything wrong because he makes your surfers go to sponsor B's trade , then he makes their program scoop your traffic back to him..

sheesh this could actually make a great program. lol if i were completely unethical and wanted my balls chopped off
