Lebron James Shines Bright ... Admit He Is Better Than Kobe This Year?

Most people would never believe it. The Cleveland Cavs have made their first second round playoff apearence since 1992. Lebron James is the reason why. He has completely taken over the playoffs. He leads the NBA in scoring during the playoffs. Has shot 2 game winning shots, has broken 15 franchise records and the list goes on.

Kobe has had that one game winning shot but his numbers do not compare and Lebron has dominated more games than he has. This is not a hate Kobe thread, I think he has mad skills and is one of the best players in the league but he isn't playing as good as Lebron. Thats why the MVP is not in his grasp.

Oh yeah .. Lebron is only 21.

Lets post some stats to prove it.

Lebron and the Cavs = #4 seed in the east. 3rd best record.
Kobe and the Lakers = #7 seed in the west. 7th best record.

This Stat - LEBRON WINNER

Kobe scores a lot, he is a ball hog. Kobe gets teammates involved, he isn't scoring enough....Lebron doesn't score points, points aren't important....Lebron scores a lot of points, the numbers are important...

Kobe could easily lead the playoffs in scoring....

Oh yeah, good luck tomorrow night. Game 7 can always go any direction, but one thing is certain, it will be exciting.

No but if you want to know, the East is better now. The west used to always be the best but no more.

Kobe hasn't even tried to score most of the series, that's why Lebron has a higher PPG average.... They are both great players. Almost equal, but I would rate Kobe higher because of his overall game. D, steals, clutch, championships.

That doesn't say shit. Kobe hasn't even tried to score. Did you watch the first 4 games of the Lakers/Suns series. He hardly took any shots, mostly passing.

Cavs have a lot of good players, Lakers have 2. One didn't show up half the season.

3rd in the East is just about equivalent to 7th in the west this year. If you think the East is better now, then you must be high Adam. Look at the overall West vs East games this year, the West had more than a 2-1 winning margin. With teams like Atlanta, New York, Toronto and Charlotte, the East is still far off from being equivalent to the West.

I agree, he's better than Kobe this year.

But not even close to MJ, like some say.

Age wise, LeBron is way better than Jordan at his age. LeBron's only going to be the same age Jordan was when he came in the league...this upcoming season.

Pippen himself said last night that LeBron's going to be the greatest player to ever play the game.

Cleveland was 19-14 against West teams this year...and they beat all the top teams in the West at least once.

Pippen said earlier this year that Kobe was the closest thing to MJ in the NBA now, so he must have thought Kobe was better than Lebron. Now he changes his mind because Lebron has a higher PPG average in the playoffs when Kobe isn't even trying to score?

there has never been an 18-19-20-21 year old to do the things James has done...do you morons think that's going to change as he gets older?

Kobe pretty much carried his team on his own to a 7th seed while scoring the most points in a game since Jordan in 87. He also had a 81 point game, 62 point game. Many 50+ games and lots of 40+ games and being in the top 10 in steals and like 1-1.5 behind Lebron in rebounds and assists. Plus he's a good defensive player while Lebron is a defensive liability.

You're saying something totally different than me...pay attention, and also...you took what Pippen said out of context. He said as far as coming up with the big play at the right moment Kobe is...but as we've seen the past month, that's changing. LeBron's had 4 game winners, 2 in the playoffs and serveral game winning assists.

And I didn't say LeBron is (better) right now, I said what Pippen said...in the context he said it. LeBron's "GOING" to be better...and he already is when you compare him and Jordan at the same ages.

I know more about basketball than about 99% of your tools on here...Most of you hear something from a buddy at the cooler the following morning after a big game and think you know all. If you don't follow close enough and don't know the game well enough...Don't try to argue something you know little about at all.

you're making yourself look like a fool...and the cavs aren't stacked at all. The only consistant player they have is LeBron. It's actually very close talent wise when it comes to comparing Cleveland and the Lakers.

and LeBron or any great scorer could have done what Kobe did this season, if they took as many shots as him. If LeBron took that many shots...he would have averaged more PPG than Kobe.

and you're 1-1.5 is closer to 2-2

Kobe has never put up close to a complete season as LeBron did this year and never will. What James did this year, only 4 players in the history of the game have done...oh yeah, and he's 21.

No, I heard him say Kobe is the closest thing the MJ in the league now period. Pippen says a lot of stuff and changes his mind and it's still only his opinion. Anyone can have an opinion. An opinion isn't a fact either.

Larry Hughes, Illgauskas, Damon Jones, Eric Snow, Gooden, Marshall... come on...

Well I wasn't sure on the numbers for rebounds and assists and I still am not. I know at one point earlier in the year it was between 1 and 1.5.

I watched a lot of games on NBA League pass and your like every other Cavs/Lebron fanboy I've argued with. Who other than Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom are familiar names to most people? Come on.. Smush Parker, Brian Cook, Luke Walton, Sasha Vujacic, Chris Mihm... Kwame Brown sucked until the last 1/3rd of the year. Who on the Cavs are familiar? Larry Hughes, Damon Jones, Illgauskas, Eric Snow, Gooden, etc etc.

Only 4 others in the history of the game have had a season as productive as James did this year...are you missing something? I shouldn't have to say anything else.

Where's his D? He only plays one side. I can pull out records for Kobe like youngest to hit so many points, etc etc. And Kobe has 3 championships and Lebron has none. Talk to me again when Lebron has at least one and then compare.

How many championships has he won without Shaq? How many playoffs has he been in without Shaq? Zero...and One.

This year's his first time in the playoffs without Shaq and who's dominating? A 21 year old....not named Kobe.

And his defense is only getting better. In the past 3 seasons LeBron is the is averaging more steals/blocks per game than Bryant...oh yeah...and that was as an 18-21 year old.

and when it comes to youngest to do anything, Kobe has only a few years with any of those records.

There's a reason Kobe didn't play more his first couple seasons. He wasn't ready...man, you don't know what you're talking about.

ah yeah...lol. Again you show how little you follow the game. LeBron's always the first or one of the first back.

Playoff Stats
Lebron 35.7 ppg, 5.7 ast, 7.5 rbd, 74.60 ft%, 50.99 fg%, 38.20 3pt%
Kobe 28.5 ppg, 5.8 ast, 6.7 rbd, 76.74 ft%, 49.61 fg%, 37% 3pt%

Yeah, your boy sure was busy passing. I live in Phoenix, so when I'm not cheering for the Cavs am watching the Suns. And what I've seen is a Kobe thats not as good as everyone makes him out to be.

Look at their numbers for the playoffs. Lebron is better. His numbers are better, he lead his team better, he has more game winning shots.

With teams like Atlanta, New York, Toronto and Charlotte, the East is still far off from being equivalent to the West.
I agree with Lebron. How can you say that? Detroit is the best team in the league. Miami is right up there. Washington is great. NJ is great. I think the East is better, not by much, but better.

If you think the 3rd best in the East would only be the 7th in the West, you are saving the Cavs and Lakers are the same team.
Going by the standings, if the cavs were in the west, they would have finished in the same spot they are in now, #4 going into the playoffs.

I have to agree... but that beeing said, for all this series against the suns Kobe has played some great team ball. Even in the sixth game he was always getting his teammates involved and didn't try to take over as he usually does.
Is he maturing or is he just trying to be like Nash for a while? I don't know.

Did you not see the block he had in OT when less than 1:30 on the clock. It was huge. I guess you were too busy playing with your o-lip.

I agree. Kobe has finally started playing more team ball and it obviously has helped his team. But he still hasn't dominated the game the way Lebron has through out the Playoffs.

What Lebron is doing is amazing. He is realizing his potential just in front of our eyes. He has really no limits. I'm just looking forward to see what he can do against the Pistons. That can be a very interesting match and a tough test for him.

Kobe hasn't dominated the playoffs like Lebron? What playoffs were you watching? Lebron has players he can pass to, who the hell does Kobe have, Lamar Odom? Please. Lebron James is good, but he's a playmaker, while Kobe Bryant is a pure scorer and the best player on the planet hands down. I've seen go against each other this year, and at the end Kobe always makes Lebron his bitch.. But I do agree Lebron is more useful because he's unselfish.
Oh, and the Pistons will just employ the old Jordan rules on Lebron and shut him down. I don't see the Cavs winning more than 1 game in that series, if any.

He's been in the league 10 years...Kobe is what he is, he tries to show once in awhile that he's not a ball hog, but it never lasts any length of time.
