Paycounter stats problems

Dear Paycounter staff,

You guys pay on time for your counter and that's great.

The only problem is that your stats never work. It has only gotten progressively worse and it's been a good 6-8 months now with no improvement whatsoever.

Do you ever actually intend to allow webmasters to check their site stats or not?

Everything related to CCBILL has been pure genius...but this is without doubt the black sheep of the company. It's pathetic guys, c'mon!

Thanks Pipecrew I'll check them out.

I'm just really disconcerted over Paycounter. What the fuck is going on over there?

I have no personal beef. I just want to know if they're going to back their offer of having a functional counter for webmasters.

If that was the only bad thing about him, it would make him an angel. Too bad there are heaps of other bad things about him.

I'm sure if you shoot KC an email he'll look into your account and see what the issue is.

I remember getting 750,000 uniques with paycounter being at the very top left corner.
(no text beside it)

Got about 35 hits.
Whats the point if you had that much traffic view the page and only 35 registered uniques click the counter?

I removed it long ago.
Silly me was expecting several bucks a day, not several bucks a month.

You're mistaken, PayCounter is owned and operated by PayCounter.com, Inc. and has no relation to CCBill, other than the fact that they are good friends of ours and CaveCreek hosting provides us some of our hosting services.

Enjoy your weekend!

We love Paycounter at CCBill, hell we made KC every dime he's ever taken in.

Ok ok ok, the loving PC part is true, we can't take any credit for the rest. But I'm sure if you email him with the exact problem like he's asked, he'll fix you up.

Otherwise we'll break his legs ;-}}}

KC, I appreciate your response.

I have emailed support. I did that a month ago and recieved a prompt reply back the next day saying they were working on the issue.

Unfortunately, I don't want to be singled out as a trouble maker and that's why I would rather refrain from emailing you directly. My experience has been that even if one has a legitimate claim, they are likely to be labelled as a shit stirrer just because they voice it.

My only suggestion therefore would be for your staff to recheck all stats running on your site. Clearly, not all of them work. I seriously doubt that this is news to you (as you would like to have me believe), but that's just my gut feeling (which in all fairness can be wrong).

Kimmykim, it's no suprise that your stats work, seeing that you're from CCBILL.

Everything else on the paycounter site works too, except for the stats. Why? Because no money is made in providing stats to webmasters but their is money to be made in click-throughs as well as ensuring that everything works for Big Brother (CCBILL).

Where you'll lose advertising dollars is where you claim that webmasters have access to the banner ads you run on the top and bottom of the stats pages. If webmasters cannot access this area, they'll never be able to click on those banners.

Think long term.

Perhaps if you use it for a few years you might have $50 owed to you.

Since I'm looking at our total numbers and they are normal, about 80,000,000 hits per day... Everything looks right at a high level.

So if you want to have it looked into, please send me your webmaster ID. We have over 14,000 webmaster accounts and over 77,000 website acconts. A few more than I care to check one by one on my Sunday afternoon.

If you're not going to send me the ID, then I'm not sure what else to tell you except perhaps try signing up again and generating a new account.

I don't understand your logic behind telling me it doesn't work, but not wanting to provide me any details of the problem?? It makes absolutely no sense at all.

We get the point. You tried paycounter, your traffic didn't click the icon as much as you expected, so you didn't make as much as you expected. As a result, you took down the counter and stopped using our service.

I'm sorry your expectations weren't met and exceeded, hopefully you'll give us another shot in the future. Thanks for trying us in the first place!

Actually I was very impressed with the stats and didn't care about the money at all.
I decided to use another counter simply because more surfers/webmasters would see my listing on the rank pages.

EARTH TO BOBO -

PayCounter and CCBILL HAVE NO AFFILIATION, we are not owned by them, we are based in California, CCBill is in Arizona. I'm not sure from where you keep getting this idea??

Your problem of not being able to access the stats area is an isolated incident. For all I know you're trying to use the wrong password. You've given us absolutely no information about the problem, yet you insist that we are doing something wrong!!

Your own post contradicts itself. You say we have no incentive to deliver stats to webmasters, then immediately after that you tell us that we're going to piss off our advertisers if we don't fix that stats??? That sounds like an incentive to me!!

Think long term?? We started in the adult business in 1996. We'd be broke and on our asses today if we thought short term. We started PayCounter in May of 1999.

You seem to be very concerned about being singled out as a trouble maker. I've NEVER considered someone email me details on trouble or concerns that they have with one of my products or services a "trouble maker". People that provide feedback to problems and help us through them are invaluable to us. We couldn't do it otherwise.

I would define a trouble maker as someone who goes on and on about problems, but is unwilling to help correct it. You've now made 4 posts about something not working without providing any information about your problem. In two of the posts you incorrectly claim that PayCounter and CCBill are related somehow.

Damn, I'm confused, CCBill owns Paycounter, or PC bought CCBill? ROFLMAO.

The one thing I am not confused about is the fact that it is almost impossible to determine where a problem is occurring if no one wants to give you specifics like acct numbers.

We get people with issues all the time at CCBill, and it's usually something we can correct within a day if we know what we are looking for, which most everyone here can attest to. Those needle in a haystacks aren't worth our investigation basically, since we can't replicate and correct a problem we can't identify.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say the stats doesn't work, but for me it's the bad connectivity that's causing me trouble. These long response times have been going on since about two months. Strangely enough, once the main stats panel has loaded, which can take up to one minute, the other pages get delivered decently fast.

I like PayCounter's interface, but the slowness of the service lately has made me hesitate...

LordAssmore,

How many sites have you created? The more sites, the more data needs to be compiled in order for your stats to be displayed. Which is why the sub accounts load so much faster. Shoot me an email with your account number and I'll have a tech check the database server you're on and see if we can do anything to improve it.

Thanks,
KC

KC,

I'm quite satisfied with your explanation, it makes sense.

I just checked my stats and this time it loaded fast, nice I'll resort to emailing if things get worse again. (btw I've created 27 sites.)

LordAssmore,

I'm glad to hear that! Can you shoot me your account number anyway. I want to pass it along to a tech and at least have them make a note of the previous complaint.

Thanks,
