PHOTOSHOP EXPERTS inside please. Got a question
Hey I am working on a project for a family member. I need to make a fake ransom note. You know the way they have clipped pieces of newspaper and stuff as words so that they are un traceable.
Anyway that is my question. I am no expert like some of you are at making fake stuff :-) But is there a font in Photoshop? or some way to give this note the look of a ransom note? Let me know in this thread, or hit me up on ICQ and give me a hand. I appreciate any ideas or help you could give. Thanks |

Actually, you would probably be best off to find newspaper images, cut and slice some letters, and then paste them on the canvas. You may create the "effect" yourself, but it is going to be harder.

Yes you can get a ransom font; but if you want it to look truely realistic, find pics of the different letters online and "copy and paste" them in PS

These are the 2 fonts I've used in the past for ransom notes:
http://downloads.theregister.co.uk/W...mtruefont.html http://www.dafont.com/font.php?file=ransom_note both free ... My tip with these is to create each letter separately (so each has its own layer) so you can apply text effects to each individually. Changing the color and angle of each letter straight away makes it look pretty realistic, then do some basic effects like a drop shadow with 1 or 2 spread & size settings. Also, newspapers are all different shades of grey depending on the print, paper, age etc so try using a bunch of different shades of grey mixed up with some colored letters. Finally, adding a bit of noise or a gradient overlay with some fine speckling in it with give it that grainy newspaper look. Then you could go to google images and search for something like torn or ripped paper (http://images.google.com/images?svnu...q=ripped+paper) and use those edges to create a paper background. If all that fails ... get out some glue, scissors and a scanner ;-) Good luck! ;-) |
