i don't see any problem with it. Over 50% of "straight" marriages end in divorce so it's not like straight people actually respect the institution of marriage and stay married anymore.
But on the other hand, I really don't see any reason to fix something if it isn't broke. Why complicate things by throwing the M word around? If you've lasted 8 years or so not being married, why add that pressure for no reason? Our society is so fucking worried about what bill is doing, or what sally is doing. What ever happened to worrying about what your own family is doing? As far as I see it, as long as they're not fucking in my livingroom, I could give a rat's ass what tom and joe are doing in their bedrooms. If they want to get married and be as miserable as most straight married couples are let them. Then there's always the 14th amendment 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. I feel churches, government or the powers that may be; do not own you or your feelings. I this is what makes you happy then so be it and the hell with the agencies who feel they can govern ones lifestyle because they don't feel it is right. Who the heck are they?
