What are the greatest, most memorable movie endings? And can you name this one?

I say this is one of the greatest movie endings, ever.

What are your choices for great movie endings?

Can you name this movie ending?
-----------------------

Amid the chaos of that day,
When all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots,
And all I could smell was the violence in the air,
I look back and I am amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true,
That three words went through my mind endlessly,
Repeating themselves like a broken record,

"your so cool"
"your so cool"
"your so cool"

And sometimes Clarence ask me what I would have done if he had died,
If that bullet had been two inches more to the left,
To this,
I always smile,
As if I'm not going to satisfy this with a response,
But I always do,
I tell him of how I would want to die,
That the anguish and the warm of death would fade with like the stars of time,
And that things would be much the same as now,

Perhaps,

Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son, Elvis.

True Romance was written by Tarantino as well.

I loved Pulp Fiction, but I can't seem to recall the end?

Birds of Prey (1973) had a pretty cool ending too. I have my doubts any of you have seen it as I believe it was a "made for TV" movie. Wednesday Night at the Movies or something like that.

The "birds of prey" were two helicopters. I am not going to say the ending in case someone goes to get the DVD, but it sure blew me away enough that I remember it 30 years after the last time I saw it.

Dead Zone (an oldie) - Christopher Walken is fatally wounded after his botched assassination attempt - but has one last final 'vision' of Martin Sheen committing suicide and thus preventing Sheen's destiny of becoming President and starting a nuclear war.

One of the few moving endings that made me tear up
Quote:
So in the end, was it worth it? Jesus christ, how irreperably changed my life has become. It's always the last day of summer, and I've been left outside in the cold with no door to get back in. I'll grant you, I've had more than my share of poignant moments. Life passes most people by without making grand plans for it. Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now there's almost not enough to stay alive. But I force a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceded my talent. There are no more white horses or pretty ladies at my door.

No one mentioned Caddyshack? Considering the last line of the movie is Rodney Dangerfield shouting to the entire cast "Hey everybody! We're all gonna get laid!"

Great movie and a great ending...

The Usual Suspects is one of my favorite movies and that ending is great. Rounders is another good one, of course I'm a poker freak so I'm probably somewhat biased.

MR. WHITE
(with much effort)
Sorry, kid. Looks like we're
gonna do a little time.

Mr. Orange looks up at him and, with even more of an
effort:

MR. ORANGE
I'm a cop.

Mr. White doesn't say anything, he keeps stroking Orange's
brow.

MR. ORANGE
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.

Mr. White lifts his .45 and places the barrel between Mr.
Orange's eyes.

The CAMERA MOVES into an EXTREME C.U. of Mr White.

The SOUNDS of outside STORM inside. We don't see
anything, but we HEAR a bunch of shotguns COCKING.

POLICE FORCE (OS)
Freeze, motherfucker! Drop your
fucking gun!

Mr White looks up at them, smiles, PULLS the trigger.

BANG

We hear a BURST of SHOTGUN FIRE.

Mr. White is BLOWN out of frame, leaving it empty.

So many to choose from, some are already mentioned. But here's a few more.

Gone with the Wind. Great end to a great movie.

Casablanca. Great end to a great movie.

Planet of the apes. Great end to a mediocre movie.

Life of Brian. Great end to a great movie.

So many good ones posted....

One which comes to mind:

"So why did I do it? I could offer a million answers - all false. The truth is that I'm a bad person. But, that's gonna change - I'm going to change. This is the last of that sort of thing. Now I'm cleaning up and I'm moving on, going straight and choosing life. I'm looking forward to it already. I'm gonna be just like you. The job, the family, the fucking big television. The washing machine, the car, the compact disc and electric tin opener, good health, low cholesterol, dental insurance, mortgage, starter home, leisure wear, luggage, three piece suite, DIY, game shows, junk food, children, walks in the park, nine to five, good at golf, washing the car, choice of sweaters, family Christmas, indexed pension, tax exemption clearing gutters, getting by, looking ahead, the day you die.
