I tried it before and couldn't get past the first sip. If licorice and Vick's vapor rub is your thing then you'll love it. I couldn't stand it and didn't drink enough to get the "added" affects.

you can definitely get it without the anise - but you will find it bitter in most cases - although loads of different flavors out there

hm i made a post a few days ago, with the perfect absinthe recepy... i just had it last night and i love it.
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle of Pernod absinthe (best absinthe ive had)
- 1 empty bottle (old water bottle or something)
- sugar
How to make the perfect mix:
fill the empty bottle like this: 1/3 of water and 2/3 absinthe.
put a couple of teaspoons of sugar in the bottle. Just judge for yourself how much exactly you think you like, like putting sugar in your coffee.
Put the cap on the bottle & shake that shit.
Put in 30+ mins in the freezer.
ENJOY!
oh and the pernod absinthe bottle looks like this:

here in quebec we can buy it at the liquor store. I've bought about 3 bottles in the last few years. It's a very interesting buzz to say the least. I never seem to realize that I'm tripping on it until the next day when I try to figure out what the hell happened the night before.
Regardless, it is a great buzz... just don't drink too much of it in one night. I wouldn't recommend more than 4-5 ounce's of it.Comment
