The Wizard of OZ and Pink Floyd's THE WALL...

It's actually "Dark Side of the Moon" that is synced up with Wizard of Oz --- it is pretty amazing how many things match up -- but on a lot of it you really have to keep an open mind.

When I was in college we tried it but it didn't seem to match. But then again, we might have been a little too messed up in the head.

Yes, while I was in college we decided to try and prove this. A LOT of it matches up. Sort of creepy.

I have every Pink Floyd album including some crazy Sid Barrett albums. Pretty heavy shit.

I watched it with my daughter a couple years ago . . . if you start the CD on the second roar of the MGM lion it works pretty well.

You do have to play the CD two times to make it thru the movie though

heres some things to look for as you watch the video above

The lyric 'Balanced on the biggest wave' coincides with Dorothy's balancing act on the fence

'On the Run' starts as Dorothy falls off the fence

Chimes and Bells start ringing as the Wicked Witch appears riding her bicycle

During the 'Time' guitar solo, the fortune teller's sign is shown with the words "Past Present and Future"

The tornado is shown in the background as the words 'I'm am not frightened of dying' are said

The drums start right as the wind really picks up and blows the trees from their roots

The singer calms down right as Dorothy is knocked unconsious by the window

'Great Gig in the Sky' is still playing as the house flies in the tornado

Side 1 of the album (vinyl) is exactly as long as the black & white portion of the film

The cash register in Money is heard right as color is seen in Oz (money = color)

The ballerinas enter on 'Us, us, us, us'

One ballerina seems to lip sync 'ordinary men'

Three men enter on 'Me, me, me'

One kid's jerking motions are in sync with the music

'Forward he cried' is sung as Dorothy looks turns to face forward

The Wicked Witch appears on 'Black, black'

On 'Blue, blue, blue,' the camera switches to Dorothy (in her blue dress)

'And who knows which is which and who is who' is sung right when the Wicked Witch of the West looks at the recently killed Wicked Witch of the East. Note the play on words "Which is Which" vs "Witch is Witch"

The Witch is up a the platform on 'Up, up' and then walks down on 'Down, down, down'

As 'And in the End' is sung, the Wicked Witch of the East disappears

On 'Out, out, out,' the good Witch of the North leaves

'Brain Damage' plays as the Scarecrow sings 'If I Only Had a Brain'

Heartbeat heard at the end of the album is heard as Dorothy listens at the Tin Man's chest

Didn't they (Pink Floyd) confirm it as being true like last year? I seem to remember something about it.

I'm 12 minutes into it and its pretty fuckin crazy. Never realized how much its on.

I saw a very recent interview where the idea was laughed at by them.

But then play enough records against each and every film around and of course stuff like that will happen. It rarely if ever means the band in question bothered to sit and do something so daft.

It's pretty cool watching Wizard of Oz with Dark Side of the Moon... I thought it went together nicely.

Between those two tips, watch how the emphasis in the music syncs up with dorothy trying to convince them not to let toto go. And the lyrics when the witch bicycles away, and toto escapes and runs back.

yeah quite true, from memory on putting on The Wizzard of Oz and when the MGM thing comes up and the thrid Lion roar...you start Dark Side of the Moon

the heart beat at the end and great gig in the sky when the house is going up in the tornado is quite freaky
