Many, many times. As a police officer for 10 years it was kind of a common occurence over the years.

Two years ago my neighbor knocked on my door, I open to see her on the ground crying holding her child in her arms. The child was seizuring very bad.
I managed to get him out of the seizure and keep him cool while the ambulance arrived, thanks to the very helpful and clear 911 operator.

Funny thing was, I was about to leave to go to the store, but decided to check my stats first so I stayed for a few more minutes. The mother was hysterical, and there was no one else around (everyone else was at work in the apt complex) so it could have been bad if I didn't stay.

saved my sister from drowning when she was 6 or 7 or something...she's 21 now and i still don't think she can swim...also saved my best friend from killing herself from an OD last summer...not that i actually physically saved her, but if i didn't get her to the hospital on time, she would've been toast...doctors said her blood was almost toxic.

My old step father is epileptic, i can count numerous occassions where i Had kept him safe or got him home after a gran maul.....even back to when i was 4 or 5....that time he knocked some teeth out falling on a toe hitch and i managed to gewt him home and layed down....im lucky because hes usually combative when in the middle of seizures...I remember another time i got him inside and layed down I called the ambulance....and he ended up punching one of the EMTs in the gut and making him double over and lose his breath....

anyway, seizures are serious shit

My daughter (2yo at the time) started choking with food stuck in her throat - I did all the usual things like slap her back etc but nothing helped - She went deep blue. I suddenly remembered something I saw on tv many years ago and pushed my hands hard into her stomach and pushed up -
The blocked food flew out of her mouth (followed by the entire contents of her stomach), and she started breathing normally again.
I was shaking for ages after thinking how close we were to losing her.

Few years ago, some retarded broads decided that keeping bags of chips and boxes of cookies strewn across the burners (atop the oven) was safe. This was at a hotel (on spring break) somehow they were magically turned on (the coil type, not gas+fire burners) someone must have bumped the knob and the pile of plastic + cardboard wrapped food started to catch fire.

Our room was a few doors over and I noticed a bunch of smoke coming out, I quickly lept into action like I was in Backdraft or some shit, drunk as fuck but thinking quick - my first action was grabbing some towels from the bathroom, and soaking them in water....I then began mashing the flames...at this point the wooden cabinets above the stove were on fire and spreading, somehow I managed to put the blaze out before it engulfed the hotel and killed hundreds of spring breakers. True story.

I took several years of lifeguarding and was qualified to teach lower level first aid/lifesaving courses, but only actually worked as a lifeguard for a couple of months before I was offered a great job at a dotcom... Never had the chance to do anything particularily heroic other than tell kids not to run on the pool deck...

I havent saved anyones life but when my son was 13 months old we were swimming in Daytona Beach when a wave took me and my son under. When i came up the floaty that my son was in (now mind you, it was one of those that goes on like a bathing suit) was floating by itself with my son not in it. My ex husband came running into the water and bent down and grabbed my son by the leg. Ever since then, i will not go swimming in the ocean and my son is deathly afraid of the water. I sat on the beach for hours thinking of what I would have done if my son had drowned that day and all I can do is thank God that hes still alive.

A few years ago I was leaving for work and I realized I forgot my change for the bus on my dresser, but instead of running back in the house I wnet to the store right beside me instead. When I went in, the two kids (maybe 16ish) of the owners were the only ones in there. I asked for change and noticed that the girl was acting like she was really spaced out or high, and then she dropped my change all over the counter. I looked over and her brother was stumbling around the store, and at one point walked into the ice freezer and fell down. I ran over and helped him up and got them to get out of the store and called 911. When the fire dept came they said that it was a Carbon Monoxide leak from the constuction next door, and that if the kids had been ther for another 10 mins they would'a probably died. After that the store owners gave me free cigarettes for almost a full year until I moved... To this day I sometimes wonder if I was meant to leave my change that day..it was a brand new store and they hardly had any customers, so that 10 mins could've gone by without anyone else coming in....

i have quite a few times. when i was about 12 i was swimming with the neighborhood kids at an apartment complex. was just about 4-5 of us kids and one had brought a younger sister who couldn't swim. anyway, the other kids weren't paying attention and the little girl had slipped into the deep and and was splashing in the water like a wet cat gasping for air. i jumped in just as she went under dragged her out and she coughed up some water and mucus and all that good stuff. scary shit...

another time i was coming home from work. cold day in winter time. saw smoke coming from near the chimney on the backside of a neighbors house. it could have easily been mistaken for chimney smoke as you couldn't see exactly where the smoke was coming from. anyway, i noticed the smoke was rather dense. so i walked over to check it out and just then a flame shot out the roof. they have cages all around the windows and door so you can't get to the front door. so i fucking banged on all the windows through the bars and hitting the walls on the outside of the house. i knew they were home because the cars were still there. after about 15-20 minutes of banging someone finally peaks out the window. by then smoke is billowing out of the crack of the door. finally one comes out i tell them your house is on fire man what the fuck get out of there. turns out theres 5 people in the house that all just passed out for the night. i ended up litterally crawling around the house to grab the kids while the fire engulfed the kitchen and living room. lucky people i tell you..

years ago in highschool i was at a party. big kegger lots of people showed up. some we didn't know and people from out of town. i guess some guys got into it in the driveway. next then you know theres this kid getting smashed by about 8-10 guys left and right. he was clearly knocked out and unable to defend himself. so i pushed the guys aside and jumped on top of him. they pummled me for a good minute until a couple of my boys cracked a couple of there guys with a baseball bat. came out with a broken rid, collar bone, and a few good shiners. the other guy wasn't so lucky broken eye socket, severe head trauma, probably gets hit in the head again might have some serious problems.

just normal shit id expect anyone else to do for me.
