EVERYONE Should send their email!

Guys don't be lazy and spend 5 minutes of your time to write a damn email. Every email helps. Whats wrong with you? Unite for once, every vote counts. It's better to spend 5 minutes than be forced to deal with finding offshore hosting, new sponsor links etc.

Bump for this thread
|
I received my confirmation :thumbsup . I sent my statements in on Friday and received the confirmation today. If you have filed, it may take a while to hear back from them.
I am amazed there is not a bigger turnout or chatter on any board you go too. I am beginning to think that people are just not aware that this issue is sitting in there lap; or they just don't care. I was reading on another board and the person was saying why bother, seriously, what's the point. If we all have this attitude we will go no where together. Get out and voice that opinion :thumbsup |
i thought icann through this out alreadY???????????????

That person that says "why bother" ...there will always be people such as that in this world, its what makes us so interesting, but the majority needs to step up... Also you cant let "one person" say "dont bother" those that say that there are many reasons, one being, they would be the same ones that would step over you if you were on fire.....some just want to live with there heads in the sand. :thumbsup |

Going to get thrown out again........(fingers crossed) |
I have emailed my objection, but it seems as if the only way this industry will ever pull itself together is when we finally get hit by the proverbial last straw.
For now, what should be important discussions (and not only on this board) rarely get either the views or the contributions of the average "Would you hit it" thread. It is extremely unusual for any major operator to participate in such threads at all. And when another piece of the ceiling does fall down, there are never any sanctions against those who made it happen, nor against those who did nothing to prevent it. As to .xxx, I suspect that most of those who have given it more than a passing thought, see it as another opportunity to make money. That most will never make a dime, but we will all end up spending more, just makes the general lack of reaction all the more pathetic. |
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh shut the hell up already, .xxx is great

jayeff...well said..... I stood right there in Florida at Internext last year, just after the .XXX panel, having the main partner in the .XXX, tell me " they banked on the fact our industry would not do a thing" ....they might be right, its still not a done deal, and the fact that ICANN put the brakes on it, gives us some hope, and time. Sad and very pathetic........................ like you said most would rather not be bothered until that day comes when they are shit out of luck on there domains and they cant make the car or house payment. So i say to the lazy ass "know it all" webmaster, there are so many reasons to just send an email and vote, all the very same reasons they give us to vote in any election. Vote = email to ICANN -- be part of something, stand up for your biz No Vote = bend over sheep and no lube for you.... |

what the word on these guys? what icann needs to see/read is not a bunch of emails by people saaying "xxx sucks" or "I oppose xxx" (unless it was serious numbers like say 5 , 10 20 thousand ?) but an actual study, like a business plan outlining how fucked up .xxx is from a firm , group , collective ect of repsected persons or companies. every little bit helps though, so dont get me wrong.:thumbsup |
good ole freedom is the usa.:1orglaugh

Sent my email days ago but forgot to confirm until yesterday. Still hasn't shown up...hopefully it will soon or I'll just resend until it does.
Get on the ball people, 318 emails sent...out of the countless thousands who frequent GFY. That's fucking sad. You slackers should be ashamed. Props to those who take a stand, c-lo |

i just sent them this
.XXX is about money and taking advantage of a situation, nothing more nothing less. Those behind .XXX are opportunists, nothing more nothing less. The facts are that .XXX will not protect kids from pornography on the Internet. .XXX will not stop the bad CP people either. I am sure that ICANN has extremely intelligent people driving the ship, and can see right through the veil of "false desire" that those in favor of .XXX are painting for them. Lets hope that they are not swayed by the deceitful tactics of those who are planning to line their pockets with the results of a decision opposed by the majority in the online adult theatre. Many online adult webmasters are afraid of the spotlight, but are greatly opposed to .XXX. Those of us who are not afraid of standing up for the rest of the industry should be counted as exponential voices for those that are not willing to publicly post their views and positions for fear of future retaliation or exploitation. For every one of us that are making public comments, there are 99 behind us that will not publicly post their opinon. .XXX is a coup of sorts, with the full intention being greed. I have been involved in online adult marketing since 1999 and this is one of the most abhorrent displays of brute thuggery that I have had the displeasure of experiencing. .XXX serves no positive intent. .XXX has many detrimental ripple effects. We respectfully request that ICANN really take a look at the intentions of those behind .XXX and not allow their presented falsities and deception to sway a decision in favor of those motivated by money. .XXX is bad for everyone in so many ways. Thank you for your time and consideration. Regards A very concerned webmaster. |
