yes photography is annoying, and a lot of trouble, you should probably just quit wasting your time and buy content from a professional photographer like Dean Capture or Aaron M

Doesn't the 20D have that pretty "green box" full auto mode? Switch to that and you'll be ok. Or consider returning it for a full refund and finding some other line of work.

Lighting is the key. Whether you use a 30D or a walmart disposable.
If you can't deal with lighting you can't take pictures.

Sounds like you're trying to work your way down the ladder of success.

You want to go from an slr to a P&S because you don't know about lighting?

If anything, an slr makes dealing with lighting much easier. Simple point-and-shoots are notoriously unforgiving about how they handle and interpret lighting conditions.

Invest in a photography course.

Yeah the 20D has a point and shoot mode that will blow any non SLR out of the water. Get a good flash and you will be set.

I have a 20D and the best thing I did was learn how to use all those settings. Now my pics look great.
