encoding questions & encoding 720p - 480p - GoFuckYourself.com

can anyone suggest some software for encoding clips at 480p and 720p? I am currently using avid XpressDVpro HD with Sorensen Squeeze. The squeeze doesn't do 480p, unless I'm missing something.

also, how long does it typically take for you to encode a 5 minute clip to somehting like 768K?

Cleaner will encode to 480p but can't you just adjust the output parameters manually to whatever you want?

depending on your system you are looking at 15-20 times as long to encode as the clip length.

Shit! I have Cleaner, but it's Cleaner 5, not the new XL. I guess I'll have to upgrade.
