I moved once because of it. My neighbors BUILT a small pen right outside my bedroom and let their frigging yapping little dog out at 5 am sharp every single morning. The doggie door was on the opposite side of their garage too far enough where they didn't have to hear it. And the worse thing was the think wasn't even barking AT anything.. just arf arf arf arf over and over for HOURS on end!
You can usually not reason with pet owners especially if they are older and their little pekinese is their whole life. Sucks.Comment

There are some devices out there that emit a high frequency sound wave that are supposed to be very annoying to dogs. The device turns on when the dog begins to bark. After a while the dog knows that when they bark, the annoying sound begins which should shut them up.

Prepare the steak by generously applying a thick coating of rat poison to it.
Throw the steak to your neighbours dog.

Report it, there are actually laws against it in most areas. Under Noise Pollution or something. For instance here in Long Beach, it is actually against the law to honk your car horn for any reason other than to alert a driver or pedestrian. If you sit outside someone's home or apartment, honking, to get them to come out, you can get a ticket.Comment

It's not the dog, it's the owners. If people looked after their pets right, the dog wouldn't feel the need to bark all damn day.
The assholes who live across from us put the dog out in the garden from first thing in the morning, and it's still there till well into the night.

Oh and another really good tip if you have a cat that keeps getting in your yard and shitting everywhere....
Take a glass bottle and smash it up, then, get some spackling and spread it across the top of your garden fence.
As soon as you have spread the spackling on the top of the fence, liberally sprinkle the broken glass shards over the spackling and gently push them down with a spackling knife.
I guarantee it'll stop the cats from coming in to your garden PLUS it also stop neighbourhood kids from jumping your fence to get to the river

4pics: whatever you do, dont hurt it. go to the city hall (or call'em up if you're lazy) and ask what you can do about the dog barking. there SHOULD be some kind of law or way to come to a resolution. if all false, pull a Tony Soprano: talk to the neighbors and HINT that something bad will happen, but without losing your smile, and without actually saying any words that are incriminating. that should scare them enough (if they love their dog).
