Why is rent weekly in Australia?

I pulled up some rental listings in Gold Coast cause Batts has me tempted after posting those pics a while ago... can't get that place out of my head.

But I'm wondering... why is the rent weekly? Why not monthly? Seems a little odd.

probably a lot of tourists rent them for vacations, most don't stay a month . . . just a guess.

I would think if you contacted them, and said you want a month, a deal could be worked out . . . unless they have no trouble filling them.

I thought the same thing...but the ad says, it's UNFURNISHED. so it's not a vacation rental listing

Sometimes the cost is shown weekly, but you'll probably find you pay monthly, well at least I do.

Maybe I'd just pick up a sleeping bag, and a pad... it would suck having to sell furniture after only a couple months of living there. Maybe this is the one time I could actually fathom using a furniture rental place... lol

Also depends how far away you are from things.

I'm 40 minutes motorcycle ride outside of Brisbane and if I were to rent my house it would be worth about $360/wk too.

you can get an apartment on the gold coast cheap as piss, there is SO many apartments up there , it really depends what area of the gold coast and if you want an apartment or house..

We pay per week cause if we had to save the money for a whole month then pay we wouldnt have the money.... Australians drink all the time and if there is money in the bank they will take it out and go to the pub and get pissed..

Hit Lindsay up if you wanna know know about Gold Coast rent and shit , he lives there
