subdomains for seo..good or bad?

i am testing out some subdomain strategy for some sites im working on.

i am not getting the crawls compared to the main domain site tho.

was wondering whether it would be good for natural results to use subdomains. or just screw the subdomains and use more domains?

why not just register a new domain? they are so cheap these days, there is no reason to bother with subdomains for seo shit

new domain, new IP....always

Depends how you make it look like. If you make it look like a blog project or freehost it should be allright to have tons of subdomains and pages that all get indexed.

We have freehosts where users get http://subdomain.domain.com/ and all their pages get indexed and all get their own pr.
And we also have a blog system where users get http://theirname.blogdomain.com/ and also all their pages get indexed, and spidered very frequently (most blogs at least once a week).
All subdomains are on the same IP, so it can work, but probably it helps if you make it look like it's a blog network or freehost?

I cna't believe that someone would suggest that registering a new domain, and using a new hosting account, woulkd get you sandboxed on the se's...LOL...i would guesstimate that all those domains microsoft owns that link within each other will eventually be shot out of google because they are using shitty tactics to gain rankings? LOL...get real
