Anyone with BOA accounts get their account "flagged" a lot?

I have a BOA checking personal checking account, but I use it for business cause I'm not incorporated and dont have an EIN or anything like that. so I'm always buying traffic from on-line places and because of that my bank account keeps getting flagged by their fraud department.

For example I buy a lot of passes at submitpasses.com and they show on my statement as pisosupport.com and theres like a bunch of them for different amounts, so i guess my bank found that suspicious so they froze my card so i cant use it, and i usually dont find out about it until im buying something and get my card rejected!!. And I also buy for other traffic through Epassport and Paypal, and my bangthumbs pass shows up as bangbrosc.com or something similar, and worldsex shows up as Dreamclub (sounds really porno-ish, they prolly though i joined a porn site).

And my bank said that whenever theres a lot of on-line transactions they think it might be related to fraud so they automatically put a hold on my card. This is the second time this has happened already, a few weeks I bought some concert tickets through ticketmaster and payed my taxes and for some reason they found that also suspicious, and they also found it suspicious that i was making large deposits and having a lot of transactions.

the deposits are not huge, but im too lazy to go to the bank often so i only go once a month and sometimes even longer, like almost 2 months so i save up all my checks, and after i deposited 16k through the atm all the flagging started cause they thought that was "suspicious". That and the web transactions for traffic combined....

After I call them they unblock it so i can use my card again, but its so annoying. yesterday i was at bestbuy and wanted to buy some stuff and my card was declined (which is also quite embarassing) cause they blocked it. luckily i had my check book with me, otherwise i would have driven there for nothing!

Does anyone have probs with BOA flagging down their accounts due to lots of "web transactions"? They say that a lot of web transactions sometimes means fraud cause a lot of fraudsters make web transactions i guess? I cant help it, i make lots of web transactions, thats how i pay for traffic, hosting, domains.... i even like to buy personal things from amazon.com like cookingware there, and books, all kinds of stuff... i do everything on-line...

That about sums it up. I am a new customer and have alredy had a similar experience to rants.

It is quite rediculous.

Heh, there's always a good BofA story going ... we bank with them and if it weren't the biggest pain in ass to switch banks, I would have left them a LONG time ago.

We had to do some bank stuff and we had to fax over Chris' ID. Well, we live in CO but haven't had our licenses switched over yet, the DMV is just too much of a hassle. (BTW: there are no BofA's in CO) So, we fax it over and the guy calls back and says "nope, something doesn't add up, you live in CO, your company is in Vegas, and your ID is AZ" so Chris had to fly to Vegas yesterday for a 20 minute deal with BofA. He had to fly out, go to BofA, sign the papers in front of a bank official, show his ID and leave. Grrr...

Most credit card companies will do that though. Being in the PPC game it is a headache I used to go through all the time. I started using my Virtual Epass card instead.

I just opened an account with Wachovia. I have limited, although excellent, experience with them, but I hear from other webmasters that they are excellent to use.

Yeah BOA are always flagging our account, last week, yet again, we deposited a $50k check and the bastards told us we have to wait 7 days for the full funds to clear before we can even consider touching it

The excuse they gave was something to do with money laundering and the amount of funds we have flowing through the account on a monthly basis

Needless to say, we're currently shopping around for a new banking facility

Regards,

Lee

Wachovia is just as bad as BOA, at least in my experience.

They bounced a business check of ours a few weeks back because the funds apparently werent available in the acct... Despite the fact only 3 days prior we deposited a large enough check to cover the one we wrote plus some.

Regards,

Lee

Yep, now at least i know im not the one... i hate it... i tell them too that i work on-line and always have to pay for things on-line and they claim its not a "person" looking at my account but a computer system that just notices suspicious things and just flags it down. I hate them!

I already told them this last month and they keep freezing it! I don't think a lot of customer service reps work in that "fraud department", its only like 2 people. Everytime i call i get the same people. The girl is cool, but the guy rep is rude as hell, I hate him.

Its suspicious cause theres one charge from submitpasses for 36.00 another one for $50 one for $25 or whatever, theres like a bunch of them, its just a bunch from the same co... i think thats whats triggering it. I've had these type of charges for a long time tho and never got flagged before so i dont know what their problem is.

First off, you should have formed an LLC, or at bare minimum, registered a DBA and set up a business account. Then you might not be getting flagged as much.

I do not bank with BOA, but I've never had any grief beyond having to talk to the bank manager to send international wires. Big whoop. Money in from online, and going out to online. No grief.

i hate bank of america and their shitty customer service, i want to change over to wells fargo so bad, but then i would have to contact my hosting co, PA accounts, health insurance co, all the companies that debit me monthly and change my card # with them and its just such a pain, i dont know whats WORSE, dealing with BankofAsshats or changing everything.

FUCK BANK OF AMERICA!

It's not the point of having an extra credit card on hand, its the point of being embarassed and humiliated when my card doesnt work, and people behind me in line seeing this and thinking im some fraud or that I went over my limit, when its stupid BAnkofASShats placing a hold on my account just because i make a lot of online transactions. Fuck them. i fucken hate them so fucken much.

If I didnt have an alternative method of payment available i would want to be compensated for my time and effort for driving there.

I've heard (before yours) other stories, or nightmares with BOA. I'm glad there are not a lot of them around here. I would hate to be going through the same grief.

Well I can see your point of view doing it the way you are. I just prefer, and recommend, anyone IN business set it up like a business. Both for tax reporting, and protection. But it's not to say that is the only way to do it. Just recommended from my accountant, and lawyer.

I am in business, I make over 6 figures and still dont see the need to do it (also I dont have employees), I have a friend who also makes 6 figs and hes doing it under his ssn as well. Maybe if i had employees and we were doing millions of dollars in transactions I would have to do it, but I'm just one person...
