most sales contests suck, you basically kick out 90% of the affiliate population with that type of contest

nope. ratio are great - i see this from my personal stats.
so any person who have quality niche traffic can win. i see nothing wrong here, since it in any case fair -- also - here are free bike delivery to any part of world.
