Movie: Flight 93 (why not to see it)

Pure speculative bullshit. The only part they could even hope to get right is the dudes getting on the plane....the plane taking off, & the descent into the ground.

So hey, lets base an entire movie (90+ mins) on what "might" or "might not" have happened on a plane....and make money off these retards that probably bought the 9-11 alan jackson cd singles for their ipod.

Seriously, if you go see this giant load of dramatic soap opera SHIT, you should be ashamed of yourself.

And i hope the director of the films gets a real bad case of herps

As you can clearly see here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0280491/

this director makes his living off deep seeded emotional events in history...that are just a "touch" more abstract than an actual war

fucking fag

I thought at least some of the in-between parts were corroborated by on-board telephone conversations that the passengers were having with their loved ones, parts of which may have been recorded?

I flew on several planes just before 9-11.....& tried to use my cellphone about 100x, and it never EVER worked. Thats why they had an expensive ass phone you could pay to use.

But i guess magically 30 people used their cellphone that day........riiiight

My cellphone consipiracy aside....its still a pretty stupid film idea....point blank

Zactly. Which is pretty much all I think we can agree on. What else can we do but speculate beyond that.

I think I'd at least watch the movie once it hits the HBO-like premium channels in a year, or however long that takes. I wouldn't rent the DVD, but I'd be curious to see it some day, and expect to regard it with about the same plausibility as the 1937 Reefer Madness propeganda film, which I think was a work of pure evil genius honestly.

You make some valid points. I agree making up what "might" have happened on the plane is wrong to begin with, let alone cashing in on the worse terrorist attack in american history. I dont give a fuck how they portray any of it, some fuck off in a cave somewhere will be laughin about it. Lets just hope that fuck off isnt our president

OK you fucking heartless bastards, there is one reason I am seeing this film.

10% of the first three days proceeds go to the Flight 93 Memorial fund, even if you are tinfoil hat freak(like some in this thread obviously) you still cant argue these innocent people should be honored respectfully. Even the families of the victims gave their approval to this film.

Ya Im sure the plane was all the way at cruising altitude when you tried, and Im sure flight 93 was flying much lower. You think they have cell phone towers every 30,000 feet from you on the ground at all times? pfft.

It is well known that people love their bigger than life hero stories. That doesn't change the fact that the film is shit, the donations are shit, and the people behind it are shit.

What the fuck does this have to do with Bush? It's a movie made about fictional circumstances during a real situation made to line the pockets of the greedy fucks that would even consider profiting from such a film all under the pretense of a worthy cause.

Lol have any of your tinfoil hat predictions ever come true chadglni? I would say you live in a pretty fucked up bubble yourself there buddy lol. The families gave this film their blessings, that alone should be enough for most people to consider seeing it.

So then you saw it? Trust me 99% of those out bashing this film A. Havent seen it, and B. Hate Bush.

They are against any revival of patriotism, and anything that will remind people of what really happened on 9/11. It undermines all the months and months that they have been out slowly twisting what is in the media and making people forget. Anyone who doubts this is a fool beyond fools.

Do you realize how many hundreds of films have been made based on actual events where the director infuses his own speculative version of events into the film? Obviously nobody knows exactly what happened in the plane, its just a movie. I have no idea why you are singling this movie out, there's hundreds of well known films like JFK, Mississippi Burning, Titanic, etc.... that are based on real events where the director has to fill in the gaps with his own version of events.

JFK hundreds of witnesses in & around the book depository, the grassy nole, SMELLED gunpowder, saw/heard shots, people etc.

Titanic - hundreds of surviving witnesses

Alive - surviving cannibals

Plane crash (supposed cellphone calls)

anyone see a common ground?

Know what else....these movies were made DECADES after. This film was made.

This film was made for one reason & one reason only. GREEEEEED

I am a movie buff, i've seen thousands of films & i know a pile of shit when i see it. And i don't need to see the film to critique its philosophy of greed.

You are one fucked up dude.

Soounds like it might be from the producer of Open Sea. About the divers that were left at a dive site, and never found. What a fucking joke that was.

This is an interesting thread. I thought it was interesting that family members of the survivors were brought in as 'consultants'.

What expertise do they have?

I think it was a PR move, to cast the most sympathetic 'spokespeople' for the movie. And a pretty smart move too.

Sure, some webmaster outlaws here aren't buying it.. but the lemmings will eat this shit UP

So have you seen it? Never seen a movie critique based on not seeing the movie. If you see it then still think its a pile of shit, so be it. Also, even with all the witnesses and known facts of the movies I listed, the directors still chose to be controversial and infuse their own speculative version of events. I could name 50 other notable movies where this has also occurred, its called Hollywood, no need to get all riled up over nothing.
