See, that's where you have to separate posting for business/checking up on things and postwhoring. They are two different things. You can still read/post without sitting at your computer 24/7. Ask Quiet or even Amp for example.

The boards in porn, more than any other business, are a very useful tool. Look at it like that and the question "Can you imagine yourself posting on a forum regularly for 10+ years?" doesn't make sense. Of course you can as long as you are in the business. If you are not planning on being in the biz then no.

well quiet claims to be retired, no real reason for him to check this place, other than being curious what happens in this industry and on this board from time to time

but when he was here he was far from a 'postwhore' yet he still posted a lot, mostly on non business topics, because most topics here simply are non business

he could have decided to run his paysite for another 10 years by buying gallery spots on thehun and so on as he always did
but would he still post here all the time? thats what i am saying

even you post 'a lot' compared to what you could, if you were just discussing business threads or just browsing industry news

and take a look at the old skool ppl on this board like boneprone or AaronM
boneprone was ruling this board, posting heavily, having also fun with fake nicknams etc but now i think he's still in this biz, just ( almost ) abandoned the boards


Aaron has been also posting far less recently ( with the exception of the recent re-lived sonofsam drama )

so one can stay in the biz but stop being active day to day on boards

This is what I mean. Boneprone in particular. You don't have to stop completely. The biz is still relevant to him so he still posts. Same thing for Quiet no matter if he is "retired" or not... he still has porn dollars coming in so he will never dissappear completely. The same thing goes for a lot of guys I can think of that post here 30 times a year max.

Not to say that you can't go cold turkey... but why do that?

Im quite tired of certain things already... both the industry, GFY and the way I live my life at this moment

I hope I can buy like 3 more good domains in the upcoming months and retire completely from any work online ( at least for a few years ) and obviously also from GFY

Year 8 in the biz, 6 years + posting on adult boards.

I'm over half way there. :D

10 years? I would be in a different field by that time. Something different from my profession right now.
