Why does music suck so bad these days?

i am a rap and r&b fan, and i am currently listening to some of the older tracks, and they do not make music like they used to.

most of the crap out there is just cookie cutter music put out there to make a quick buck.

does anyone in the world care about quality anymore? everyone is about quick cash these days.

this applies to all types of music, i used to be a Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Primus fan way back when.

and no one makes alternative music good anymore either.

why is it that music sucks so bad these days?

Rap is dead. Really lame these days which is too bad. Rock died more than 10 years ago. White Stripes are horrid.

Mainstream music sucks for a couple of reasons.

1.) The people that pick the music that becomes popular are not cool. They are rich, old, and out of the loop white males at the top of the corporate music latter.

2.) MTV and popular radio stations like KROQ play the same 10 seconds over and over all day long every day, until kids hear them so many times, they start to believe they are good songs.

Your first mistake is listening to rap and R&B. Those genres have generally been terrible since 1995.

very few quality musicians in general left,

the only new rapper i like is Young Jeezy, and G Unit also.

rap will not die. i like the old school vibe, like Big L, TLC, lost boys,

problem is all the best rappers are dead. everyone died, BIG PUN, 2PAC, BIGGIE, BIG L, LEFT EYE, easy E

all the best got killed within a short period, no one was left to set the bar high, and all the west coast rappers are getting to old for the game, and no one has come through with a smooth style since then.

it is true nowadays the music on the radios sucks either the songs are so lame or the good ones are played over and over forcing you to hate them.

It used to be that way but I don't think it is any more. Music has run its course. All genres have been exhausted, and then remixed, even cross pollinated with every other genre. And now there is very little left. It's really not a problem for me, good music lives and I'm happy to listen to the music I know without ever hearing a new song. So many great bands and artists of the past that can never be outdone. The only people concerned would be the recording execs lol.

This happens. It even happend to me a few times. I remember hearing a song, thinking it was ok, but then I saw how cool the video for it was, and subconciously began to like it more.

very very true,

i didnt back up one of my old HDs that had my entire old school music collection on it.

when you listen back you just know that some of the old school music cannot be topped.

you know artists are great artists when they get respect from people acorss all music genres.

you no longer need good voice to become a recording artist. technology can do the trick nowadays.
