Are promotional comments on blogs considered spam?
And furthermore are comments on SPLOGS spam as well? I guess I dont understand why someone would bitch about comments on a splog when the splog is created simply for marketing adult products. Hell most adult blog/splogs arent even created by those that put them up they are simply regurgitated RSS feeds of some other splogs lol.

Depends on how you do it. If you do ALL of the following in one very readable and cogent package, you should be good to go:
1) Comment on their content 2) Offer an interesting twist / opinion regarding issues that their content raises 3) Offer information from YOUR SITE that supports your opinion/comment Using this strategy allows you to add CONTENT and contribute VALUE to their site. If you need help on how to do this using cheap outsourced labor to create CUSTOM CONTENT just for comment marketing, let me know. Plain old spam is too salty and almost all sites hate it. Wrap some rice around it, put some tomatoes and egg around it. Then serve it in a nice nori jacket. It's ceased to be spam and has become a delectable breakfast treat. Use the same approach to your own "free" advertising efforts. |
