Uniques vs. Raws vs. "qualified" hits - WTF?

Okay.. so I have a sponsor that uses "Qualified" hits. What the fuck is that?

Does that mean they flashed their CC at the join page making them "qualified"?

Perhaps a NATS guru can break it down for me.

So if surfer

A. Visits a gallery clicking the pics 1,000 times with nothing.. it's a 0

B. Visits the site but never makes the join page it's a 0.

C. Visits the join page it's a 1?

I am not sure if qualified is consistent from sponsor to sponsor. However, in most cases, it requires the surfer to click on a link on the path to a join page. In other words, hitting a .jpg file would not count; however, hitting "see more of Cassie" would "qualify."

Thanks Cory... appreciated.. So a sponsor can tout 1:114! When 20,000 surfers never made it... right?

It means no matter how shitty the conversions are, they can show 1:45 at gfy.

Its the latest trend.

Weg doesn't do it. However, and please excuse me for a possible tangent, but webmasters shouldn't base traffic on what sponsors tout for conversions.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how they do their stats IMO. It doesn't matter how you convert. All that matters is what your check totals, your server stats, and what you feel as a level of trust (and even that is subjective depending on the check sum).

So maybe qualified hits helps them in a marketing strategy....but you could assume that in a lot of marketing strategies.

Now, qualified hits for a program assist in losing some of the "dead weight" stats as I like to term them. For example, Weg does first page hits, so if you email me and want to know our overall conversions, they may be less impressive than a site using qualified hits or even better, a program that has a lot of traffic.

The more traffic you have overall, the less your overall site / program conversions will appear impressive. Kind of the nature of the beast, however I don't think a lot of people get that. So is a program using "qualified hits" a better idea on conversions for someone sending quality traffic? Maybe.

And so, programs now have "qualified hits." Weg has a lot of traffic. And in a lot of traffic is some less quality traffic....

Hope I didn't ruin your thread...

Do you think any "conversion" threads are unwarranted?

What the people want, the people will get.

Cory... you didn't "ruin" my thread" if anything, you may have convinced me to join your program immediately.

The bottom line is the cash.. (After all I am the Bling Daddy). I look for sponsors that I can work with to acheive financial goal. The problem with most people is the saying "quality" traffic. Seriously.... unless it's massive amounts of SPAM or similar it's ALL "quality" traffic. Unless you're promoting a serious NICHE and THAT NICHE ONLY (eg preggo/bdsm/squirt) or anything else it's all "quality" traffic as long as it's not auto generated......

Not quite,

A raw hit is when one of your surfers clicks on one of your links and goes to the tour. Same surfer can click 5 times and you will have 5 raw hits in your stats. (This is how CCBill's affiliate stats work and why CCBill ratios appear higher than NATS or other scripts)

A unique hit is when in the above scenario only 1 hit will show up instead of 5 in your stats. Same surfer clicks through 5 times, only 1 unique hit shows up. Most programs show both unique and raw. We do. (CCBill's script does not)

The above rules apply to all the tour pages. Some sponsors report all and some no. You can have:

1st page raw
1st page unique
2nd page raw
2nd page unique
join page raw
join page unique

etc etc

A qualified hit means that after the surfer clicks your link and you send him to the tour, he then clicks again to the second page. Some might also report a qualified hit only when they click through to the join page. Depends on the sponsor and the tour. (tour might only have 2 pages for example)

Thanks, if you need anything, let me know. I have a custom site on the brink of launch.
