Anyone have DirecTV or DishNetwork 4+ receivers?
I'm trying to figure out the best way to run all my coax cables in my new place. Going to do it all before we put up the drywall etc. I have 4 receivers with DirecTV right now, and might pick up a 2nd dish so I can add a few more receivers. Does anyone have a big setup like this and recommend a good way to run the wires? Or do you have 1 wire coming in for every receiver?
I'm thinking of just having the guys do their normal coax wiring for cable tv incase we resell the house in the future. And then I will have the DirecTV run seperate cables for that stuff. Was just trying to think if there was a easy way to do all this. |

You should talk to some specialists about it. Have one of those Internet closets setup and everything. If you're building and like technology, which you obviously do, do it right.

I have 2 DTV 3 lnb dishes ( one for Dish, other for Bev ). I have 4 switches ( Diseq) with each the 2 dish in, one feed out to the receiver. This is done 4 times. .
If you just want to get DISH, a single dish is enough... you can always add a dises switch to get more feeds in the house.

well I have the HD direcTV dish right now that I can hook 4 receivers up too. I'm just thinking inside wiring and for future plans what would be the best option.

yes, forget 2 dishes when you can just run a multiswitch... Google or your local satellite dealers have them also.

400? wtf... you shopping for a gold plated one or something? lol
40-100.00 depending on how many receivers you plan on running... I would buy one from a local dealer (maybe 2) since they often are good about replacing them if they go out. I keep a spare in case it does mine does go out I can swap it and not be out of TV at bad timing... i.e. Sunday football . |

Dude, Tivo requires 2 wires per receiver. Plan accordingly. Might as well set the rooms up for 3 possible incoming each for the future.

Ah.. I thought you just wanted to do your RG-6 for satellite... Your link is quite a setup... If you're just wanting to do sat and cable, something like a channel master multi switch would do the job...
That kit looks like a slick all in one system... More than I need I'd talk with your contractor too |

We have 3 DirecTV (maybe 4, I don't even know lol) and the cables run under the house.
My advice: If you can, get cable TV service. Unless you are a sports fanatic, there aren't any benefits to it. I miss cable.
