Don't you realize that it is against the tos of all programs to spam.
You failed to realize that the ONLY webmasters that would use tinyurl.com are nothing but spammers!! Why should a spammer get credit for sales, but then again, why should Boss Hawg not take the traffic anyway..
I doubt he would steal anyones traffic or sales, but by all means, he has every right to deny paying a spammer.

BossHawg a thief? Never.

BossHawg 05-17-2006 09:41 AM

Thanks for the love everybody.

Let me first clear this up, as I have never ONCE stolen traffic from anybody. It is obvious someone is very jealous of me for one reason or another and felt the need to signup as an anon and make 1 post about myself to stir some shit. I have nothing to hide and I did make that project post when I was investigating into toolbars a bit more. That highlighted part was meant for if a surfer typed in domain.ocm (note the misspelled extension ".ocm") where the extension was misspelled, we would then redirect to the site the user was trying to typein. But in the end we decided it was a bit too aggressive for us and never implemented it anywhere. Nothing more, nothing less.

for what Iunderstand from the 1st post he want to get his code when someone TYPES the URL, and not when the surfer gets to the site thru clicking another link...but maybe I am wrong....

Basically I need to read the URL the user is entering into IE. If it is a site that has an affiliate program instead of going directly to the URL it would go through my affilaite code.

If I understand this correctly... The surfer is typing in sponsor.ocm, and instead of going 404 because of the .com typo you were going to redirect to sponsor.com?id=you

I'd like to hear what program owners think of this. Aren't most surfers going to double check the address after it goes 404?

:warning :warning And what about prior affiliate cookies that are still active? Now your ID writes over those.
