I would show it to my ex GF. I'm sure it would make her all wet (that car-whore!)

Morgan 04-25-2006 01:11 AM

sloooooow though.

i was tripping on this. it's just not like bmw to put out a TT vehicle with so little notice..

Morgan 04-25-2006 01:13 AM

here you go, sorry but it's not that impressive: http://fast-autos.net/vehicles/BMW/2007/335i/

thanks for the pics man!

It's not all that bad dude, the current 330ci does 0-60 in 6 seconds. And thats the fastest 3 series aside from the M3. This one does 0-60 in 5.3! Its a pretty good upgrade if you ask me. The previous generation M3 was doing 5.3. The current model M3 is doing 4.8 as a coupe and 5.4 as a convertible.

I think the key feature in this car is the xDrive and the high torque (300).

BMW are really bringing otto tech to a whole new level :) (same goes to Porsche)

BTW for those that call this underpowered, lets see other similar engines and cars with the same results...

The first one to even mention shit Hemy V8's and such should get shooted in the face :1orglaugh

It isn't all bad (style wise when it comes to Merc)

sweet car I will take one..

JD 04-25-2006 12:29 PM

chip it and do some basic mods i.e. header/exhaust/intercooler upgrade and you'd probably hit 400hp :) :)

im sure you could make this thing into an M3 killer. throw a couple bigger turbos on there and a few other things....

i just wonder why they needed 2 turbos to get 300hp out of a V6 of that size.

larger turbos (at least used to) have significantly longer spool up times, having two smaller units keeps the boost almost instantly available. not sure if that still a problem or not though with modern turbos

They said they used 2 small turbos, one smaller then the other, to achieve the lowest lag time possible.

The inline 6 is still a 3.0. Im sure it can push so much more power then 300 and im sure a lil tweaking out will do the trick. I'll drive it around for a couple months till im bored of the power before i tweak it out though.

BMW Great Car!!!!!! :thumbsup

im just saying, to get 300hp from a v6/i6 you wouldnt think it would need twin turbos.

my old 4 cyl. had single turbo and put out 280hp.

you're totally right, it dosnt "need" them. The M3 is a 3.2 i6 and it pushes 333hp easily with no turbo at all. So im not exactly sure why they chose to rock turbos in this one, but i have faith in BMW making the right decision.

it dont need twin turbos to have 300hp, but those twin turbos make it an acceleration hardcore machine :) and Im not talking only 0-100, but also 40-80, 60-120, etc

What I dont get is that its 300hp with a twin turbo 3,0l engine. wtf? the M3 from 91-95 has 286hp from 3.0l without turbo! And the M3 from 96- has 321hp on 3,2l without turbo. This one should be like 400+hp or something

Re-sculpted, inside and out.
It?s rare to find such a sporty machine that also carries its own when it comes to refinement. But with the 3 Series Coupe, absolutely nothing has been compromised.

There?s the aggressive, muscular hood. Flowing signature lines along the profile. Standard Xenon Adaptive Lights. And if you can draw yourself away from the exterior long enough, you?ll notice exquisite changes to the interior as well. New ambient interior lighting. New colors for the leather upholstery. Beautiful pearl gloss accents throughout. And a new comfort feature that provides easier access to the seatbelt.

Then there?s the power ? 300 horses worth of twin-turbo power.
Just like any other BMW, the all-new 3 Series Coupe is outfitted to provide an exhilarating drive. Under the hood of the 335i Coupe is an inline 6-cylinder engine with high precision injection and twin-turbo chargers, giving you 300 horses of heart-pounding power and class-leading 300 ft. lbs. of torque.

The 328i and 328xi Coupes are just as impressive, featuring a more powerful and fuel efficient, inline 6-cylinder engine with Valvetronic. This new engine produces 230 horsepower and 200 ft. lbs. of torque. But because of its inline orientation of cylinders there are fewer vibrations, which means a smoother ride for you.

It?s history in the making.
With the launch of the all-new 3 Series Coupe comes a very big first. It?s the first time we?re offering a coupe with xDrive, BMW?s intelligent all-wheel drive system.

When you?re on smooth, dry roads, xDrive gives you a sporty, rear-wheel drive feel. But as soon as you hit a snow-covered road, slippery conditions, or an uphill curve, it automatically sends more torque to whichever axle has more traction, resulting in optimal stability and performance.

Add to that the driving dynamics intrinsic to a 3 Series Coupe, and there?s no straightaway, no hill, no windy country road, you can?t conquer.
