You're probably right Fizz, but they still have one of the best teams in it.

I'd love to see Canada win, but with Jagr playing I can't see that happening. They would win for sure if the best Canadians to have missed the playoffs were playing (Lindros, Karyia, Belfour, etc).

Yeah, Jagr paid $160k of his own money to cover the insurance costs of playing in the tournament.. even though he makes like $11 million a year, I still have a little more respect for him after I heard that.

Most players from the hockey powerhouse nations like Canada, Czech, Russia, USA, etc don't want to go to the world championchamps, nevermind pay their own way..

I am a swed but i need to say Slovakia is pretty good now..they got bondra, satan..and they play pretty well.. Also they beat russia today..russia is a big disepointing this World championship.. I dont think many players like there coach

Why is it that only those from countries whose team got hosed say that? Don't deny it, everyone including YOU wanted your country to win at the Olympics, and since it happens only every 4 years, it is also THE tournament, and the Olympics carries a worldwide viewer base of much greater than the world championships.

Having said that.... even if Canada doesn't have their best team in the World's, we still have an excellent chance of taking the top spot. Why? Because even when it comes to hockey, even when "Canada doesn't give a f**k".... we still win.
