Hosting:
I have seen some complaints about peoples sites being down. My sites have been up and down like a yo-yo for the past two days.
Are some of you Webmasters still having this problem? Is it a problem on the net? |

Cologroup and Phatservers had a problem with one of the routers going down at their data center.. I'm not sure what the issue is with Candid.

Just to speak on behalf of Cologroup. Our network has been rock solid this whole year with today being the only down time. The 2 problems we did have where:
#1 100 Virtual Hosting Signups in 3 weeks, which just about killed our support department and casued the virtual hosting setup to become unstable. Resolution: Implemented Server Load Balancing, Further Automated the Setup Process to Handle the Setups, and added more tech support. Result: The virtual hosting customers now have a rock solid set up and appear to be very happy, aside from todays, problem #2. #2 Our Upstream had personal problems that had nothing to do with a router and took their whole data center down this morning. I cant discuss their business, but the network never should have gone down this morning. Result: The problem was fixed and it is something that will never re-occur again. I had over 20 ICQ windows open and I did my best to answer everybody while talking on the phone with people addressing the problem. So basically, I can say our hosting company is a solid one. We extend ourselves to do what our customers need, and when problems arrise, they are imediately addressed. Our track record is great and the problems we have had can not be tied to anything but an unbelievable growth peiod and a rare occurence. The best thing I had today was a customer complaining. He said his server was pushing out his downloadable movies to his office connection at 175kb/sec. He said turn that bitch down! So we are adding a cap to the max download speed for his customers, so they don't run up too big of a bill for him. LOL, I'm on ICQ if anyone wants to bug me ![]()
