Drugs Are Bad - Another Friend of Mine is Dead

Its unbelievable how many people I know that have lost their lives to drugs. When will people realize that its fun to party here and there but using drugs daily and getting addicted will only kill you.

My room mate from college 12 years back was found dead in his house. He went out the night before, drinking and doing cocaine. He was up all night and felt like shit in the morning. So he skipped work and took some pills so he could get some rest .... he never woke back up.

Please to all those that party all the time ... please go easy. Life is too short and there is much more to life than drugs and getting fucked up all the time. Go out hiking, biking, jogging, camping trips, 4x4ing, sky diving and all that. A natural high is truly the best high.

RIP Tommy W. Miss you bro.

Drugs can be scary. Some people don't know the difference between recreational use and daily use.

Sorry to hear that, man.

Two of my friends died last month. Not from drugs, but one from drinking and the other from a heart condition that was exacerbated by partying. The one who drank himself left two very small children behind. It was the saddest funeral I've ever attended. I've lost a few friends and relatives to drugs, some dead already, and some who are still alive but it's really just a matter of time. So sad.

That just gave me the chills. Its bad enough to die from something like this but to do it when you have a spouse and most importantly children .. thats just about the worst.

So true ... many of us party or used to party but its all about control and not doing it all the time. One must keep control of their habits. Thanks bro.

I think very few intend to get addicted. Its just a road they end up on and once they get too far they cant stop. Its sad really. I limit my self to only weed, and the occasional drink. I refuse to be addicted to anything but porn. Hope your friend rests in peace Adam. Its a real shame to hear something like that happening.

This thread is distubing...

Just this last Saturday, a friend of my wife's who is the girlfriend of one of my good friends was found dead in her apartment Saturday evening..

She last talked to her boyfriend while he was at work and told him she wasnt feeling very good.

He went home later that night and found her dead. I wasnt that close to her, but seeing him in this state is just horrible. Seeing the loved ones these people leave behind is sad enough and should be a wakeup call for anyone.

She was overdosed on Ritlian of all things.

She was a student. And I have no fucking clue why this new genereation of students use Ritlain..

Its very addictive and chronic overuse is like rolling the dice on your life.

Just disturbing.

Rough week this week to say the least.

Sorry for your loss Adam.

I had a good friend and his little brother killed by a drunk driver years ago.

I consider it drug related

Served no time, had no injuries but scrapes and bruises.

Sorry to hear about the friends in this thread..

I have been in recovery for over 5 years. I'm sure I would probably not be here if I had not have stopped. At least 7 people that I have meet in rehab or NA recovery rooms have died in that 5 years have died. Some pretty grusome deaths. One was just last week. You can't tell a addict anything about stopping until they are ready to get

That's so sad. I haven't lost anyone, but have yelled at friends for over-doing it. Its so true that drugs diminish your decision-making skills - like the decision when to stop.

Our bodies are in a constant state of flux, which means what we can endure one day doesn't mean we can endure the same thing every day...

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, KA....I truly am...

There is no such thing as recreational drug use, without factoring in other variables, like the state of one's immune system that moment in time...if there is a stress present that wasn't there the night before...

Unfortunately, I've seen people die having mixed one drink with one valium...that's it..and I've seen others party all night long on one occasion and then die the next time or get seriously fucked up.....it's a crap shoot....

And, by the way, this isn't a sermon against drug use....but, damn, one has to be so very careful...especially these days....we really don't have a clue what's used to cut this shit with.

Actually alcohol is a drug.

My ex-wife is a meth head. If she's alive in 5 years I'll wil be shocked. She's been to jail 3 times in the last 5 years and still hasn't learned anything. Some people can't be helped. I resevere my pity for those they hurt by their drug abuse.

I know absolutely no one personally that has died from a drug overdose...

Except for maybe Ol Dirty Bastard, but the family is claiming that was from natural causes. I have my doubts.

So sorry to hear about your friend Adam, I will pray for his family.

Friends of mine:

Julie Peneda, RIP 1984 - killed by a drunk driver
Richie Threlkeld III, RIP 1985 - smoked pot, crystal meth and shot himself in the head in his bedroom where his parents found him.
Sean Stoiber, RIP 1986 - drinking and taking downers, hung himself in his garage
where his little sister found him
Dean King, RIP 1987 - killed by a drunk driver
Channing, 2004 - still with us but head is full of metal plates from an accident caused by our drunk/high friend. She was a passenger.
Kellie Groth, RIP 2001 - OD on crystal meth and heroin. found undressed on the floor of a crack house 3 blocks from Long Beach Memorial. Could have been saved if she had not gone 10 minutes without the ambulance but someone had to hide the rest of the drugs. Left 2 small children behind that are totally fucked up in the head today.

take it down a notch my friends. I've been known to partake in the festivities on rare occasions but it still makes me nervous. without mentioning names, one of you is a very dear friend of my squeeze and I worry about you all the time. don't know you well myself but I know my man would be ripped into a million pieces if something happened to you. you are too much fun to be with to take those opportunities away from those who love you. peace!
