It reminds me of some of the people on this board actually. You see a lot of threads that talk down to sales reps, gallery builders, and everything else.

i always treat my server well, unless they are total fuckups, but then i just go see manager and advise the of what happened.

This was news about 25 years ago. Why is it suddenly new now?

Ya don't have to be a CEO or in a restaurant - people speak volumes about themselves in the workplace, what they write - everywhere.

Remember having a meal with a guy and others in a restaurant. The restaurant had oak-panelled wall lining (real wood :) ). When the waiter delivered the first course, this guy was smoking a cigarette. Instead of using the ashtray on the table, he promptly puts the cigarette out out by grinding it against the wood panelling of the restaurant and thows the stub on the floor :)

Doubt it was a common occurance in that restaurant.

I had similar experiences, although not as much, as a retail cashier a long time ago... maybe someone should keep tabs on the high profile webmasters at the next industry event ;)

Interesting and true story.

I go to Ruby Tuesday about once a week for lunch.

2 weeks ago, I went with 2 friends who are black, I'm asian. We didn't get waited on for 15 minutes. Looking around I saw one waitress walk to us, notice it was a colored table and walked away. We ended getting another black guy waiting on us. I went off and jokingly said, "We didn't get waited cause we're black!" He actually said "Some of the people I work with say they are my friend, but then will prejudge a table because of color". I was like damn, where's your manager?

Last week, I went with 3 white friends. We got service in less than 3 minutes.

It goes both ways, human nature.

Very interesting read. The same lesson can also be applied to helpless animals. Didn't Gandhi say "You can tell a lot about a society by how they treat their animals"?

did the CEO say that how your waiter treats you decides how much money to give them???

cus they missed that one.

If my waiter brings me a soup with a fly in it..... and he is rude when i mention there is a fly in my soup, I cant yell at him and punch him in the face???
